NU stands for Neverused.. there are Pokémon that are simply not good enough to even be used in ???. This metagame gives those poor weak Pokémon a chance to be used. Pokémon from the other tiers are not allowed, but many unevolved Pokémon are allowed. Note that this exact list is specific to PKMN.NET and the DP metagame.

Legendaries aren't necessarily powerful, though.

have u seen there stats. in comparison legends r "stronger" but statagy wins in the end
Agatha on Fri 08 Feb 2008 05:25:20 UTC.
Umm, Legendaries are fine as long as they aren't uber. You can't get mad at someone for using Zapdos or Cresselia... Also, Fearow is here AND LUU, and I think Fearow is better than the LUU Pidgeot statwise...
Lord Raven on Wed 20 Feb 2008 02:33:11 UTC.
... normalist, I find more use with Heracross than any legendary. And heracross has 100 less base stats than them.

Why is Bastidon up there?

Sheddy's in here? Why?
Lord Raven on Sun 24 Feb 2008 05:12:07 UTC.
Bastiodon can't do anything other than tank, and it dies to pretty much everything fighting or ground type. Both overly common. Shedinja sucks in general because it's weak to 60% of all things despite its ability. 1HP ftl

i hate legends to.... thats what i was saying. just cuz a poke is in a lower tire, doesnt nesasaraly mean that its weak.

Too many good pokemon are here. It is ridiculous.
Lord Raven on Fri 18 Apr 2008 02:21:11 UTC.
That's really not a vague suggestion.

I just think that the lists don't show whether it is good or bad, but what Pokies match up best in a battle with other Pokies.

POKEMON DISCRIMINATION POKEMON ARE SPECIAL IN THEIR OWN WAY E.G A Glalie can do quite a lot for strength in my opinion A tyranitar can be killed by a focus blast (I luv tyranitar myself) SO thats why its discrimination
Spinda on Thu 19 Jun 2008 17:49:24 UTC.
Spinda with Focus Sash, Trick Room and Flail murders everything.
AKART on Sat 28 Jun 2008 20:41:50 UTC.
Keckleon?!?!?! I'm sure that was UU... Just because it can't make use of STAB...
Brikien93 on Fri 28 Nov 2008 13:59:58 UTC.
Why is Nidoqueen here??? She has both excellent tanking stats, and excellent attacking stats. Albeit she probably can't contend well with her BF, but she makes an EXCELLENT CB tank. And exploud, he has A) an awesome attack stat B) an awesome Sp. atk stat, and C) awesome mixed sweeping stats. Plus quite a diverse movepool. He can utilize Choice Band, Choice Specs, or my personal exploud utilizing choice Scarf. And finally my final concern...SEVIPER!!!?? Seviper (along with cacturne
Brikien93 on Fri 28 Nov 2008 14:01:34 UTC.
Both make very potent mixed sweepers. Definite UU material {why did part of the message get cut off?}
President Hawkeye on Mon 22 Dec 2008 20:28:33 UTC.
Well come on... There is a MASSIVE amount of luck involved as well. These lists are VERY generalised to satisfy the most likely of situations. I mean, in a battle anyhting can happen, but generally, an OU pokemon will generally come out on top over, say, a UU pokemon. Basically, its base stats practically sort them into respective tiers and then their abilities decide the rest of the unsorted ones.
Demon Chicken on Fri 26 Dec 2008 18:37:28 UTC.
how is Vileploom here it can kill ubers?
IceRain on Fri 02 Jan 2009 03:45:06 UTC.
I think we should just ignore these tiers as most of them are senseless and just make us feel wrong.
Laprabi on Fri 27 Mar 2009 19:56:24 UTC.
The tiers are only a guide at to which Pokemon are allowed where. Ignoring the tiers is a bit stupid, seeing as otherwise, people would be unleashing SpecsKyogre in UU Tournaments. But with no tiers, it wouldn't be a UU Tournament.
