Ruby, Sapphire & Emerald Breeding: Pokémon Breeding Tips | In this page, I will go over the basics of breeding. Making the perfect Pokémon by letting your Pokémon have some alone time. Hahaha!

Hello everyone! My name is Soren and today I will be teaching you a little about something called breeding.

Breeding is a process in which you get two Pokémon, a male and a female, a breed them to create a baby Pokémon. Rule number one of breeding. The baby Pokémon ALWAYS comes out as the basic evolution stage of the female Pokémon you used for breeding. Now, there is one exception to this, but for now, let me tell you about a very important aspect in breeding...

The Day Care Centre! The Day Care Centre is a place found, in R/S/E, on Route 117. The Day Care Centre is the place in the game that allows you to breed Pokémon. Route 117 is a small route in between Verdanturf Town and Mauville City. It is filled with trainers, small patches of grass, and two small ponds. The Day Care Centre is a small building surrounded by a fence just by the entrance to Mauville. Outside the Day Care Centre is an old man. If you walk up and talk to him, he will tell you he is the Day Care man, and says that if you want them to raise your Pokémon for you, to go inside and have a word with his wife. As we go inside, we see a small area. A small table and some chairs, a pc, and the Day Care lady behind a small counter.

For this example, I will be using two Crobats. Crobat is my favourite Pokémon by the way. :) Now, since I have my two Crobats in my party, Nightshade (Male), and Koumori (Female), I will walk up to the Day Care lady. When you talk to her, she will introduce herself and ask if you would like her to raise your Pokémon for you. Say yes. After I say yes, my party is shown, and I select my trusty Nightshade. I give him to her, and after I do, she asks if we would like her to raise another Pokémon for us. Why yes we do! Our party is shown again, and I hand over Koumori. The Day Care lady assures us she will look after them, and then stops talking. Now it's time to exit the building.

When you exit the building, you should always go talk to the Day Care man. He will tell you whether or not your Pokémon are compatible, and if so, what are the chances of getting an egg. Well, if you do get two compatible Pokémon, run around for a while, occasionally checking on your Pokémon. Eventually, the Day Care man will say your Pokémon had an egg, and offer it to you. Make sure you have an empty slot in your party, or you won't be able to accept the egg.

Once you have the egg, run around some more. A is recommended, seeing as it lets you take steps a lot quicker than running. Eventually, the egg while hatch, and then, you have your very first baby Pokémon! In my case, it would be a level 5 Zubat.

Now, to some of the finer points of breeding. Say you want a specific nature on your baby Pokémon, but you don't want to have to hatch a lot of eggs to finally get it. Well, this is easily resolved as long as you are playing Emerald. Just attach an Everstone to the parent that has the desired nature, and the baby will have a 50/50 chance of having that same nature. Everstones can be found by searching in ???, or by either using Thief on or capturing wild Geodude. They have a 5% chance of holding one.

Thank you all very much for your time. I hope this was informative and enjoyable for everyone to read! My sincerest thanks, Soren, a Pokémon breeding master.
