This episode is essential viewing because:
May catches a Wurmple. Jessie catches a Wurmple.

Ash, Brock, Haruka and Masato are once again travelling through another forest area, Masato leading the group with his Pokenav. Ash talks of how he looks forward to earning his next gym badge. Haruka is trailing behind, when suddenly a wurmple drops down from the trees, scaring the living daylights out of her.

Masato asks whats wrong, and Haruka points towards the bushes where the Wurmple is crawling into.

Ash gets out his pokedex and has it look up information on Wurmple. Masato then explains that its the first stage of evolution for Beautifly. Haruka gets excited, and runs off into the bushes to give chase after Wurmple. Everyone follows after her.

'Double Battle and Double Wurmple!'

Haruka comes to a halt after losing sight of the Wurmple, and everyone catches up. Brock asks why she wants to capture Wurmple, and Haruka explains she would like a Beautifly to enter in Pokemon contests. she then runs off in search of Wurmple again, leaving Ash, Brock and Masato behind. Team Rocket have been hiding in the bushes, and Jessie also would like to capture a Wurmple, so she can enter Pokemon Contests.

Meanwhile, Haruka comes to a small clearing, when she spots some Bellosom dancing in a flowerbed. She decides to stay and watch.

Jessie is now dead set on capturing a Wurmple, so begins calling out for one. It doesn't exactly work (what a surprise), so she decides to kick some trees in hopes of a Wurmple falling down. A weedle falls from the tree, than a Kakuna. James comments on how Weedle are the pre-evolved forms of a certain pokemon. Jessie kicks the tree once more, and a swarm of Beedrill appear.

Haruka is still watching the Bellosom, when Team Rocket come running past, with the Beedrill in close pursuit. Of course, Haruka is also forced into fleeing from them. Team Rocket and Haruka eventually fall down a small grass bank.

Team Rocket try to recite the motto, but Haruak spots Wurmple, interupts them, then runs after the pokemon. Team Rocket follow close by.

Haruka summons Torchic to battle Wurmple, but before it can attack, Jessie sends out Seviper.

Haruka and Jessie start arguing over who should get the Wurmple, and decide to fight over it.

James sends out Cacnea to help out Seviper, and orders it to use Pin Missle, whilst Jessie orders a Poison Tail (hold the onions). Torchic is outnumbered and squeals in terror as Seviper and Cacnea attack, but suddenly a Heracross comes out of nowhere, and tackles both of Team Rocket's pokemon. A young boy who owns the Heracross tells Team Rocket that 2 against one isn't fair, and of course, they blast off again.

Haruka realises that Wurmple has escaped and looks around frantically. The boy then introduces himself as Takuma.

Meanwhile, Ash is training Pikachu to use its newly discovered Iron Tail technique properly, but the training isn't going too well. A young boy aproches and introduces himself as Takumai, and asks for a double battle. Masato says that this will be a good way to train for Ashes next gym battle. Ash agrees, and the match goes underway.

Takumai sends out Yanma and Ariados, whilst Ash sends out Treecko and Pikachu.

Ariados starts with String Shot, which Pikachu and Treecko easily evade. Takumai then orders Yanma to use Sonicboom, but Ashes pokemon also dodge this attack. But Ariados uses String Shot again, and it sticks to Pikachu's foot. Pikachu strugles to get free, but Yanma uses another Sonicboom. Luckily, Treecko grabs Pikachu, and pulls it out of the way just in time. Takumai orders Yanma to use Swift and Ariados to use Night Shade, which Pikachu and Treecko dodge once again. Pikachu then Thunderbolts Yanma, but Ariados quickly uses NightShade on Pikachu whilst its attacking Yanma. Treecko once again comes to Pikachu's rescue.

Treecko then uses Quick Attack. Ariados and Yanma try to hit Treecko, but thier attacks miss and cause a dust cloud. Pikachu runs out of the cloud and surprises Yanma with an Iron Tail, KO-ing it. Pikachu tries to attack Ariados with Iron Tail, but fails. Ariados injures Pikachu with a String Shot, but Treecko pounds it with it's tail, winning the double battle for Ash. Takumai congratulates Ash on a great battle, and vice versa.

Elsewhere, Haruka and Takuma are still looking for Wurmple. After eating some berries, Takuma finally spots Wurmple and Haruka sends out Torchic. Torchic uses Tackle on Wurmple, and Haruka throws a pokeball. However Wurmple breaks free. Takuma explains that Wurmple was not weakened enough to be captured. Suddenly, Wurmple makes its move, and attacks Torchic with its stinger. Torchic counters with Ember, and Wurmple is weakened. Haruka throws another Pokeball and captures Wurmple! But, just as she celebrates her first succesful capture, Team Rocket appears, and takes Wurmple's Pokeball. Takuma sends out Heracross, who bursts Team Rockets balloon. Jessie drops Wurmple's Pokeball, and Haruka catches it. Team Rocket don't want to loose the Wurmple, so they send out Seviper and Cacnea. Haruka orders Torchic to use Ember, but Seviper and Cacnea jump out of the way. Cacnea uses Needle Arm, which makes contact with Torchic.Seviper uses Poison Tail, but Heracross grabs its tail before it can harm Torchic. Takuma tells Haruka she should use Wurmple to battle. Haruka sends out Wurmple, but then remembers she doesn't know any of its attacks. Takuma tells her she should have Wurmple use String Shot, and it does so. Then we get de ja vu of 'Ash catches a Pokemon' as Seviper and Cacnea are all tied up so to speak. Torchic embers them, and Heracross finishes them off with a Megahorn, sending Team Rocket blasting off, whilst Haruka celebrates her victory.

Ash, Brock and Masato are talking to Takumai, whilst Forretress, Pikachu and Lotad are eating. haruka and Takuma come running up, Haruka shouting out that she has caught the Wurmple. Ash congratulates her, but before she can replys, she notices something about Takuma and Takumai...they're twins! After everyone is introduced to each other, Haruka lets Torchic and Wurmple free of their pokeballs to join the other pokemon. Wurmple silently sits, but then starts quickly eating all the food left out for the other pokemon, and the stew Brock had been making. Wurmple finishes off all the food, crawls over to Haruka, curls up and takes a nap. Haruka picks up Wurmple, and everyone starts to laugh....

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are hanging from a tree branch on a cliff side. Jessie is unhappy that she didn't catch a Wurmple, but Meowth spots one at the end of the branch eating some leaves. Jessie throws a pokeball, and easily captures Wurmple. just as she is about to grab the Pokeball, Wobbufett pops out, and the extra weight snaps the branch, leaving Team Rocket and the pokball, falling to the bottom of the cliff.....
