Ash, May, Max, Brock and Pikachu are standing by a lake, waiting for a special friend. Just then, Pikachu shouts out, and Brock says ‘there she is’ as MISTY runs to the group. ‘Hey you guys’ she says and laughs.

Misty asks Pikachu how he has been and Pikachu just says ‘Pikachu’. She also asks Ash and Brock. They say great. Brock asks Misty what the Gym leader life is like, and she replies ‘ Great, my sisters are so generous, they let me do all the work’. May and Max look between Ash and Brock and Misty points them out. Misty says ‘you must be May and Max? Right, hi there.’ May jumps out and says ‘I’ve heard so much about you’ and Max just says hi. Max hears Togepi and walks up to it. May gets out her poke’dex and it gives her information. Misty says that it’s thanks to Togepi that she could catch up with the gang. Misty gets out her invitation to the Togepi festival and Ash walks ahead, but Misty grabs him by the hood. Ash asks what’s wrong. Misty replies ‘I’m the one who’s invited and been as she heard that you were here I thought I’d invite you all as my guests, but you can’t get in unless your with me and Togepi, those are the rules’.

Misty is shocked to see two people dressed up like the patterns from Togepi eggs. The people say ‘Welcome my children, we represent the Togepi festival operating comity yeah, we have the pleasure to be your guides today’. The one stranger walks up to Togepi, followed by the other. They both grab Misty and take her into the hotel, and lock the doors. They put Misty in a big metal ‘V.I.P.’ room. Misty questions the way that it is a ‘V.I.P.’ room. The two strangers tell Misty to enjoy her stay. The two strangers call a talking Meowth to start the engine, which means that the strangers are Team Rocket. Meowth starts the engine. The Hotel falls to pieces and a blimp comes out. Ash and co grab onto a piece of string. May says that it is more of May’s expedition and Max begs for maturity. Ash, May, Max, Pikachu and Brock run into the blimp. May says that that was GREAT!

James says that they’re right on course, and tell Meowth to drive them straight through a sandstorm. Brock says that he sees a sandstorm and how are we gonna get through that and tells everybody to get ready for a big hit. May says that this could be the last expedition for May and Max tells her to give it a rest. The sandstorm rages and everybody on board struggles to stand up. The sandstorm clears and Brock sees a town.

The Blimp lands and Misty is let out. Ash, Brock, May, Max and Pikachu are also out of the blimp and Misty is pleased to see them. The strangers do the Team Rocket motto and take off their costumes. Meowth jumps to grab Togepi, but a big man grabs his head and throws him. He is Cornel Hanson. Jessie and James tell Cornel Hanson that they wouldn’t let him down, but Cornel Hanson throws Meowth at James. Cornel Hanson says to Team Rocket that he wanted a Togepi not a trainers. Ash shouts to Hanson ‘So you’re the leader’. Hanson replies with ‘yes, I am the mirage kingdom leader and I need a Togepi, you will give me your Togepi and leave my kingdom at once’. Misty screams ‘Togepi, not in ten million years’.

Hanson clicks his fingers and a Shedinja appears above him, the Shedinja uses solarbeam and makes a hole in the floor. Two Ninjask appear and Misty is scared. May and Max wonder what is wrong with Misty and Brock replies ‘she’s never been a big fan of bug Poke'mon’. Ash tells Max to take May and Misty away and Ash and Brock send Poke’mon out, Ash with Pikachu and Brock with Mudkip. The Ninjask use shadow ball, but Pikachu uses thunderbolt and Mudkip uses water gun. There is an explosion. Shedinja follows May, Max and Misty.

Down a mountain, Shedinja comes to Misty, May and Max and May checks her poke’dex. Whilst still scared, Misty releases her Corsola and tells it to use spike cannon, but it just bounces off Shedinja. Shedinja reuses solarbeam and it sends Togepi all the way across the mirage kingdom. A young girl (who is now known as princess Sarah) dressed in blue finds Togepi and takes it to her maid, Miranda. Miranda says that it is wonderful and they girls tells her maid to tend to it. Back with Ash and Brock, Ash falls down a hole and thinking that the Ninjask know dig, Ash, Brock, Pikachu and Mudkip jump down it.

At the palace, the king is sitting in his chair when Miranda runs in. Miranda tells the king that a Togepi had been found. The young girl puts a plaster on Togepi’s head and the queen says that the ceremony can now take place tomorrow. Misty runs into the palace and demands her Togepi back. Ash and Brock run in and are angry with Cornel Hanson, who is also there. Hanson leaves the room and the king apologises to Ash and Co.

The king says that Ash, Mist and co must be removed from the island immediately. Misty asks if she could know what it is about. Miranda says that anyone seeking the throne must find a Togepi. May says that Togepi is an awesome Poke'mon. Misty gets it now; she knows why Hanson wanted her Togepi. Sarah said that Hanson wanted Misty’s Togepi to selfishly crown himself. Brock grabs Sarah’s hand and tells her to not worry, as Brock was there. Misty grabbed Brock by the ear and May liked her style.Hanson is moaning to Team Rocket and Team Rocket are trying to please him. Hanson tells Team Rocket that they must have Togepi before tomorrow’s ceremony.

Ash and Co are about to get on the blimp to go back to Fallabour town when a sandstorm starts. The sandstorm clears and May looks up. Above the palace is a reflection of the palace. Everyone thinks it is unbelievable. Togepi starts flying. Everyone is still surprised. Togepi is flying up to the reflection but Shedinja appears. Shedinja prepares a solar beam but just in time, Misty grabs Togepi out of the way. Hanson, Team Rocket and the two Ninjask come, wanting Togepi. Misty refuses and Hanson orders Shedinja to use solarbeam. Ash sends Pikachu to use thunderbolt but there is an explosion.
