We see Ash, Pikachu, Brock and Misty jogging. Theyre still on Seafoam Island. Ash tells Brock and Misty to keep up. Brock says Ash is giving 100%! Misty says that he was a bit sidetracked by Slowpoke, but now hes making up for lost time. Then, a van with surfboards on the top rack drivies by Ash, splashing water in his face! Ash chokes on the exhaust fumes, and doesnt see the other van coming! It screeches to a stop before it hits him. Ash opens his eyes to see dozens of vans with surfboards on their tops in a traffic jam around him! All the people are argueing. Ash wonders whats going on.

Officer Jenny comes to break the jam up, and does. Misty asks why theres so much traffic. Brock asks why there are surfboards on all the vans. Jenny says it because of Humungadunga! Its a huge wave that hits the beach every twenty years! They look to see lots of people surfing on big waves. A lot of them are carrying flags. Brock sees that theyre all trying to ride the waves, and put their flags into a huge pillar-like rock way out in the water. Jenny says theyre trying to become surfing legends. Just like Jan. He was the greatest surfer ever, and fourty years ago, he rode Humungadunga, and put his flag at the very top of the rock! So far, no one else has put a flag on top of the rock. But they keep trying. Ash gets an idea, and a big smile on his face.

They go down to the beach, and Ash, in swim trunks, goes into the water with a surfboard that looks like a Psyduck! =) Misty says that Ash should be training! Brock says to lighten up, they should be able to have some fun! She says hes right. Ash swims out into the water on the board. Togepi is playing in a tide pool, and is splashing Pikachu. Pikachu looks over to see another Pikachu, an older one, sitting on a grassy cliff overlooking the ocean. Then, the other Pikachus tail glows blue! Back in a cabin on the cliff, there is an older man with long hair and a mustache. He says that thats a big wave, but its not the big wave.

Menawhile, Ash is trying to surf. Brock says that hes up! But then Ash falls. Misty says he must be practicing his wipe-outs. Ash climbs back onto the board, but he says theres something wrong with his foot! (Just what is wrong with it, anyway?) The Pikachu on the cliff sees, and runs back to the cabin, Ash calls for help. Brock is about to run in to help, but a huge wave comes and hits Ash! Ash gets knocked out, and an even bigger wave is coming! But then, the guy from the cabin and the Pikachu come on a surfboard, and the guy grabs Ash, and pulls him onto the board! The guys says, Pooka, pipeline, and the Pikachu manuvers the board on the wave. Ash regains conciousnes for a moment. and sees the Pikachu. Then he faints.

Later, Ash wakes up in a bed, and sees his Pikachu. Brock asks if hes okay. Ash asks where he is. The guy with the mustache says hes in his cabin. He asks if Ash is hurt, and Ash says hes fine. Misty says that the man is Victor. Brock says that he saved Ashs life. Ash says thank you, but Victor says not to thank him, thank Pooka. Pooka is out on the cliff, and Ashs Pikachu runs over, and they talk. They watch the ocean together.

They dont notice a blue fin and periscope come out of the water! Its Team Rocket in the Gyarados sub! Jessie says that either shes seeing double, or there are two Pikachu! James says steal one, get one free! Meowth says that now they can bring two Pikachu to the boss! Jessie sits back from the periscope, knocking James and Meowth over with her hair. She says that now they might get a two week vacation!

In the cabin, Misty is singing Togepi to sleep. Ash asks Victor if he lives here by himself. Victor says no, he has Pooka! Brock asks how long hes had Pooka. Victor says its been about twenty years. Brock and Ash are surprised. Victor says its kind of unusual, because he didnt catch Pooka. Pooka came to him from the sea. Cue flashback!

We see Victor when he was younger. Hes stting on the beach, when he spots a young Pikachu out in the water on a peice of wood. A wave comes, and the Pikachu surfs on it! Victor runs out into the water, and the Pikachu jumps into his arms. It looks at Victor, then faints. Victor says that he doesnt know how or why it happened, but ever since that day, he and Pooka have never been apart. End flashback.

Misty says that thats pretty mysterious! Victor says that Pooka is one mysterious Pikachu. He says that it can feel the waves with its body. It can sense when the big waves are coming, and can even sense how theyll break. He says that he and Pooka have teamed up, and surfed every big wave that came their way. Misty looks at some photos on the wall, one of them of young Victor and Pooka from twenty years ago. The one below it is of him fourty years ago! Brock asks who the guy is in another pic, with the surfboard. Victor says thats Jan, a surfer named Jan. The two Pikachu are still out on the cliff as Victor tells Ash and the other about Jan. Cue another flashback.

Victor says that everyone wanted to be just like Jan back then. Jan was the best, he had the skill, no fear, and lots of style. Victor says that he started surfing because he wanted to be like Jan. We see young Victor try to surf, but he keeps falling. He almost makes it one time, but falls. But he sees Jan clapping for him. Later, when Victor is on the beach, he sees Jan on the same cliff Pooka sits on. Victor says that he thinks Jan could sense the waves, too. He always seemed to be waiting for something. And one day, it came. The big wave, Humungadunga! We see a HUGE wave loming up over the big rock. Jan rides the wave, and plants his flag at the top! Everyone watching, including young Victor, cheer. Jan became a legend. Victor says that afterward, Jan said to him "Hey, you can do it, too." and gave him his board before leaving to surf the world. Twenty years later, Victoe says, he challenged the big wave. But he couldnt even stay on his board. He says it was the biggest dissapointment of his life. He never wanted to surf again. But then he found Pooka, and has loved surfing ever since. End flashback.

Victor says that he doesn;t know where or what hed be now if it wasnt for Pooka. He says that he and Pooka have surfed every kind of wave, except for one. Ash says that he can sense things, too, and he knows that Victor can do it this time! But then, they hear the two Pikachu scream! They run out to see them in the Gyarados Grabbers! Team rocket comes up on a water spout, holding fans, and they say their motto. When the finish, Meowth turns off the water, and they fall. They oull the two Pikachu into the sub. Victor runs to try to get Pooka.

Inside the sub, the two Pikachu are in a glass container, and Ashs Pikachu is trying to shock its way out. James says that its 100% shock proof! As the sub goes deeper, several glowing eyes appear in the gloom. Jessie wonder what they are. Gyarados, and lots of them! Meowth asks what theyre doing here. James says that he heard that once a year, Gyarados swim into shallow water in order to lay their eggs! Some Gyarados start ramming the tank. James says that they dont like company when. Jessie says that theyll leave! They start pedaling, and all the Gyarados watch the sub as it leaves. But, as a parting gift, they start firing at Team Rocket with Hyper Beams!

On the surface, everyone is in a boat, trying to find the sub. misty see the Hyper Beams coming through the water, and the sub suddenly comes out of the water. A Hyper Beam hits it, and it explodes! Team Rocket, and the two Pikachu, are sent flying! Ash sends Bulbasaur to grab the Pikachu with Vine Whip. It manages to get his Pikachu, but not Pooka. Pooka falls into the water! Victor throws his baord into the water for Pooka to climb on. Victor also jumps into the water. Ash tells him to wait, but waves start rocking the tiny boat. Brock sayd the waves are too rough, and theyll capsize if they don;t get to shore. On the board, Pooka glows brightly. The sea is calm now, but the sky is cloudy. Victor says, could it be? A loud rumbling is heard, and a HUGE wave appears over the horizon!

On shore, Jessie blows her whistle, saying there is a tidal wave coming, and for eveyrone to get to higher ground. Everyone does, and they all watch as the big wave comes. Ash says he doesnt see Victor or Pooka anywhere. But then, they see them! theyre riding the wave! Victor says this is it, Pooka! He gets out his flag. The board suddenly shoots off the front of the wave, towards the rock! As they pass it, Victor puts his flag on the top of the rock next to Jans! They land back on the wave, and everyone cheers! The wave crashes against the rocks. ash says that he knew Victor cpuld do it, Jan would be proud. Victor and Pooka sit out on the board in the water.

Later, on land. ash says Victor was awesome! They say congradulations. Victor looks at the crowd to see two kids with surfborads. He goes to them and says "Hey, you can do it too." They both smile.

Later that night. We see Team Rocket. Jessie says that theyve hit rock bottom! James says at leats theyre reached the top! We see that the Gyarados sub, half of it, is stuck on top of a big rock, and several Gyarados are circling. Meowth says all they have to do is wait for the next Humungadunga. How long could it be? A few days, or weeks. right? Right?! =)
