Pokémon Tower
Now that we've got the Silph Scope, we can finally identify the creatures that haunt this tower. This is the only place where you can catch them. When you enter the second floor, you will be challenged by your rival again.

* Of these three, one of them will be the starter your rival choose at :L25, and the other two will be at :L22 and :L23.
These might seem tough to defeat, but you should have experience handling with them by now. For the bird, use Electric attacks or something similar. Use physical attacks on Kadabra. Your starter should deal with one of the three remaining Pokemon, while the others aren't tough either.
The remainder of the tower is pretty straightforward. Remember that Gastly's aren't affected by Normal and Fighting attacks, while not affecting Normal types. Also, they are Ghost/Poison, so Psychic attacks will work nicely against them. Further, I'll just list the trainers floor by floor. The items aren't hard to find, so just pick them up as you go along. When you reach the fifth floor, there is a field that heals your Pokemon - don't forget to use it!

After this, the next staircase will be blocked. A level 30 Marowak will block it. Catch it or defeat it, your choice. It's a ground Pokémon, so weak to Ice, Grass and Water. Go up the stairs, where you will find a group of Rockets.

After defeating this, you can talk to Mr Fuji. He returns to his house, and gives you the Pokéflute, with which you can wake sleeping Pokémon in and out of battle. We can use this to wake up Snorlax and catch one, but we'll leave that until later. First, let's go to Saffron City.
