Cianwood Gym :: Stadium 2: Gym Leader Castle

Only two trainers to defeat this time - Blackbelt Nick and Gym Leader Chuck. Both of them are major fans of Fighting Pokémon, and they don't seem to think Ground types are too bad either. You'll find Psychic moves and Ghost types useful; a Gengar with Psychic would take care of most of this gym single-handedly.

Blackbelt Nick has this team:
-Seaking
-Nidorino
-Dugtrio
-Hitmonlee
-Hitmontop
-Rhyhorn

If you're using a Ghost, beware of Hitmonlee's Foresight and Hitmontop's Dig. If you have a Grass and Psychic move on your squad, you'll be covered against the whole team. Both Hitmontop and Rhyhorn know Dig, so you can exploit it if you have Earthquake. Watch out for Seaking - it know Endure and Flail. The tactic here is that it uses Endure to have only 1 HP left, then uses Flail for maximum damage. If it uses Endure, bring it down quickly by using a high-speed Pokémon or move such as Quick Attack or Extremespeed. Nidorino knows Horn Drill, which will one-hit-knock-out your Pokémon 30% of the time. Kill it quickly.

Chuck's team is tougher to beat:
-Sandslash
-Poliwrath
-Granbull
-Primeape
-Machoke
-Hitmonchan

A Ghost will take care of Hitmonchan and Primeape, but watch out for Primeape's Dig. Poliwrath and Machoke both know Earthquake, and Granbull knows Shadow Ball - be careful of them. Granbull also knows Roar, so make sure every member of your team can hurt him.

All members of the team know Dynamicpunch, which is a powerful but inaccurate Fighting move. Double Team would make you practically invulnerable to the move. Again, Ghosts needn't worry about this.

An interesting thing to note is that all members of Chuck's squad are male. If you have a female that knows Attract, here's a perfect opportunity to use her! A female Gengar with Attract, Confuse Ray and Psychic would rip its way through this team.

One additional note; Poliwrath has a Focus Band, so there's a small chance of it surviving even the strongest of attacks. Remember this just in case.
