Part 3 :: Ranger Walkthrough

Upon entering the Ranger Base, Joel will promote you to a Rank 2 Ranger. This allows you to use Fighting type Poke Assists. Upon gaining Ranger Ranks, you will receive new abilities and the power to use more Pokemon. Joel and the Professor will go upstairs, so talk to Keith and Lind, the two Rangers on the bottom floor. After talking to them, a female Ranger named Aria will enter the base, who is rather suprised about you not knowing who she is. After meeting her, Joel and Hastings will return, and will issue the mission to the other Rangers to try and receive the Super Styler that was stolen. The other Rangers leave to gather information on the Go-Rock Squad, leaving you in the base. Due to having a low Ranger Rank, you will not be able to take part in the mission, so Joel asks you to patrol the city in the absence of the other Rangers.

Upon leaving the base, head to the right and a woman will approach you, asking for some help at her apartment. When you get inside, she will show you a box blocking her doorway, which you need to move. Go outside and catch a Makuhita to knock the box out of the way. Upon entering the apartment, you will find a Venonat hopping around, which the woman asks you to capture. It will create clouds of purple smoke to confuse you and it hops around to dodge the capture styler. It's easier to catch when it's stopped to summon the smoke, otherwise you need to be quick to catch it. Release the Venonat and then go outside.

Upon leaving, a woman named Teresa will approach you and ask you to find 5 of her Skitty, which have gone missing. You will need to capture them and then take them to Teresa, who will be outside the Ranger Base, waiting for you to return. The first can be found on top of the apartment building. The next can be found past Professor Hasting's lab, in a building hidden among some plushies. Go to the southern area of the city to find the remaining Skitty.

The third Skitty can be found to the left, in a trash can. You will need to use Snubbull to smash into the can to make it pop out. Go to the right of the city to find a Skitty behind a wooden fence. You need to use a Meowth to slice the fence to reach it. The Skitty will move down the alleyway, so follow it to find someone standing by a Machoke. The researcher will approach you to make you leave, but ignore them and capture the Skitty who is hiding behind a tree. The final Skitty can be found wandering around by the fountain. After capturing them all, return to Teresa, who will take all her Skitty home.

Go towards the apartments and you will be approached by one of Professor Hasting's assistants, who will ask you for help at the lab. She will ask you to capture a Staryu so you can light up the basement so she can find something. She says you can find them in the Lighthouse, which is at the most southernly part of the city. You can enter the Lighthouse by going down the ladder in the middle of the port. Take the around and you can find a Staryu, which you need to take back to the lab. When you light the basement up, you can leave.

Return to the city and you will find Aria wandering around. After talking, Aria will hear a noise which she says is coming from the clock tower. Follow her to find a Machoke attacking it. Aria asks you to capture if so she can see what you are made of. The Machoke will cause no problems for an experienced player. It attacks by lunging forward with punches, and it will occasionally jump over the capture line. Loop around it after it has attacked and you should be able to catch it. Minun might be needed if you have trouble. After capturing the Machoke, the mission will be complete. After leaving the Clock Tower, the researcher you met before will appear and mention that you were sniffing around the factory, and comments on how pathetic the Machoke was.
