Poké Balls

Poké Balls have been in the Pokémon games for a long time. In fact, they've been in them since the start. And they have also been known to be used in the Smash Brothers series of beat-em up games! This page will list the Pokémon, the most useful ones and what they actually do when they have been released.

The Pokémon

Meowth - Meowth uses the move Pay Day to throw coins at people. It is a quick-fire attack and will keep people locked in it throughout if they are too close. It doesn't last long, but it'll cause some nice damage. You are immune to it.
Electrode - Electrode explodes using Explosion. Anyone caught within the blast radius will suffer high damage and knockback. If you were on around ~40% beforehand, it will be very hard to not be KO'd. This attack damages anyone in the blast radius. Electrode during its white stage before the explosion can be picked up and thrown at an enemy as a projectile. However, Electrode can also be dud and not explode.
Goldeen - Goldeen uses Splash. It does nothing. Seriously. However it's amusing to watch it flop off the stage sometimes.
Staryu - Staryu uses the move Swift to fire a stream of stars at opponents. Before it starts firing them, it will float and follow an opponent for a while to line up its shot. The attack can keep an enemy suspended in the air to take continous damage from the high-speed stream of stars.
Snorlax - Snorlax uses the move Body Slam to flatten opponents. Though they really should be flattened, the Snorlax offers high knockback if it hits an opponent and will send them flying. You are immune to its effects.
Moltres - Moltres uses the move Fly to rise into the air burning anyone who touches its wings. You are immune to its effects, but anyone else will suffer medium damage and little knockback to high depending on their current percentage.
Chikorita - Chikorita uses the move Razor Leaf to damage opponents a bit like Staryu does. However, it's stuck in position from the moment it comes out of the Poké Ball and is stuck on the platform it was released on.
Togepi - Togepi uses the move Metronome to choose a random move (that isn't overpowering or special to choose a random move. You will never know what to expect. Togepi also has some of its own moves such as making the stage black so you cannot see. Togepi can either be helpful or hinder your chances of winning.
Bellossom - Bellossom uses the move Sweet Scent to put opponents to sleep in a small radius around it if they're on the ground. The time spent asleep is determined by damage percentage of the opponent.
Wobbuffet - Wobbuffet uses the move Counter to act as a punch bag and swing back and forth from its fixed position. It swings stronger the harder it is hit. It will hit you, too, but Wobbuffet doesn't do a lot of damage if it hits.
Entei - Entei uses the move Fire Spin to trap enemies in a vortex of fire. This causes some pretty good damage and will keep enemies trapped if they haven't been hit from the side of the attack.
Suicune - Suicune uses the move Aurora Beam to freeze opponents in a horizontal, narrow beam across the stage.
Lugia - Lugia uses the move Aeroblast to damage opponents in a random pattern on the back of the stage. Lugia will fly behind the stage and fire the blast upon your enemies.
Ho-oh - Ho-Oh uses the move Sacred Fire to trap opponents in a much larger vortex than Entei. Sacred Fire does not last as long as Fire Spin, but does an enormous amount of damage to those trapped in it. You are immune to its effects.
Torchic - Torchic uses the move Fire Spin to draw opponents in close to it and do continuous damage before eventually releasing them with medium knockback.
Gardevoir - Gardevoir uses the move Reflect to deflect projectiles from the radius that appears on screen. This counts for all thrown items and weapons like Fox or Falco's blasters.
Gulpin - Gulpin uses the move Swallow to chomp down on an opponent and hold them there doing a little damage. You can attack the opponent while they're being held by Gulpin to increase the amount of damage.
Metagross - Metagross uses the move Earthquake to stomp on opponents for decent knockback and to also knock them in the ground to keep them stuck.
Latias and Latios - Latias and Latios use the move Steel Wing by teleporting to areas on the screen and zipping across damaging enemies in their path.
Kyogre - Kyogre uses the move Hydro Pump to blast opponents off the edge of the stage. If Kyogre lands on an opponent before it starts firing off, it will send the opponent flying.
Groudon - Groudon uses the move Overheat to burn enemies that touch it. Groudon takes up a large area of the map due to its size to it's hard to avoid on smaller stages. You are immune to its effects.
Deoxys - Deoxys uses the move Hyper Beam in a narrow beam down the centre of the stage to blast opponents away at high speed.
Piplup - Piplup uses the move Surf to push people off the edge. Anyone who gets in the way of the move (barring yourself) will be pushed towards the edge of the stage until Piplup falls off.
Bonsly - Bonsly uses the move Tackle when picked up and thrown at an opponent. An opponent can pick up Bonsly and throw it back, however. It causes high-knockback due to Bonsly being a rock.
Munchlax - Munchlax uses the ability Pickup to pick up an item on the stage and eat it. Munchlax is annoying as it shows no preference to whatever it eats.
Weavile - Weavile uses the move False Swipe to stun opponents momentarily by zipping along the ground through them with an attack. It'll do 1% when it hits, too, in Pokémon fashion.
Manaphy - Manaphy uses the move Heart Swap to swap the bodies of two people on the stage, including yours. You'll control their character for a while before Manaphy comes back and swaps back. While you're swapped, you still have to KO your opponent who is now in your old body.

Special Pokémon

These Pokémon will appear randomly out of the Poké Balls but are a very rare occurence. This is because of what they give you. Strangely, they all use the move Fly when they appear.

Mew - Mew appears and drops a CD for you to collect.
Celebi - Celebi appears and drops a few trophies for you to collect.
Jirachi - Jirachi appears and drops a lot of stickers for you to collect.

They don't according to the Smash Bros. Dojo, the official site. It states they use Steel Wing, so that's what's in here. Other than the fact they can't learn ExtremeSpeed anyway. (I'm aware that Celebi and Jirachi do not learn Fly, but they can float/levitate, which is what it is getting at).

It says Bellosom uses sweet scent right?and they fall asleep longer if their damage percentage is high, so if i use jigglypuff, i use sing, and their percentage is high, it'll keep them asleep longer?

Note: Bonsly is essentially a heavier projectile version of the Home Run Bat except with a much more parabolic throwing arch.
