Battle Revolution Other Pages: Stargazer Colosseum Set Guide | Written in the staaaaaaaaars!

This is a guide for beating the eight sets of the Master's Stargazer Colosseum. This is perhaps the biggest challenge that the game offers, and this guide is meant to see you come out on top.

This guide recommends a team to use for each set. The recommended teams aren't the only ones that can win, but have been designed to best ensure that you beat the challenge presented as easily as possible.

Save after beating each set, as I believe failing a set makes you have to redo the previous set (it's been a while, I can't actually confirm this, but it's safe to save after beating each set anyway). If you lose on a set, just reset the game, and it'll never know it.

Note: This guide assumes that you have Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon HeartGold, or Pokémon SoulSilver to use your own Pokémon, since winning this with Rental Passes is nearly impossible, and highly impractical. I recommend using Platinum for this playthrough, since the move tutors are necessary to create the team I'm Recommending, and the Pokémon can all be obtained.

Set One

Recommended Team:

Infernape@ Life Orb {Blaze} Naive nature EVs: 252 Attack/ 64 Sp. Attack/ 192 Speed Close Combat Flamethrower Grass Knot ThunderPunch

Vaporeon@ Leftovers {Water Absorb} Bold nature EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 6 Sp. Defense Hydro Pump Wish Protect Ice Beam
Opponent 1 - Cozmo

Cozmo's Team: Wormadam, Beautifly, Dustox, Kricketune, Mothim, Vespiquen

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Staraptor, Salamence, Garchomp

Strategy: Cozmo is like the Bug Catchers you encounter early on in every Pokémon game in every sense. He uses all Bug Pokémon, and he's very easy to beat. Smash him with Infernape's Flamethrower and Staraptor's Brave Bird. Salamence's Flamethrower works too. Honestly, this guy's not worth a strategy section.

Opponent 2 - Rakushi

Rakushi's Team: Medicham, Machamp, Lopunny, Quagsire, Pelipper, Sudowoodo

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Salamence, Infernape, Garchomp

Strategy: Rakushi at least has some variation in his team. Lead with Staraptor and Salamence. Brave Bird takes care of anything that isn't Sudowoodo, which Salamence's Dragon Pulse will OHKO. Infernape deals with Quagsire, thanks to Grass Knot. Garchomp should clean anything else up with Outrage.

Opponent 3 - Ranet

Ranet's Team: Purugly, Drifblim, Mr. Mime, Luxray, Girafarig, Pachirisu

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Infernape, Salamence

Strategy: Lead with Garchomp and Staraptor. Earthquake from Garchomp works well against this team, and Staraptor can deal with Drifblim using Brave Bird. Infernape and Salamence will clean things up if you happen to lose either of your leads.

Set Leader - Joe

Joe's Team: Torterra, Infernape, Empoleon, Pikachu, Aipom, Staraptor

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Infernape, Salamence

Strategy: Beating this Ash wannabe isn't too difficult at all. Lead with Garchomp and Staraptor. Earthquake from Garchomp and Brave Bird from Staraptor to deal with the opposing Staraptor should flatten Joe's team quickly. Infernape and Salamence will provide backup, if need be.

Congratulations, you've taken your first step towards becoming the PokeTopia Master! Don't get too comfortable, though, it only gets harder from here! You may have noticed that Scizor and Vaporeon haven't been used. This is because Set One is so easy that pure offense deals with them without issue.

Set Two

Opponent 1 - Relay

Relay's Team: Noctowl, Carnivine, Roserade, Steelix, Lopunny, Blissey

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Garchomp, Salamence, Scizor

Strategy: Infernape lead deals with this whole team in one hit, aside from Noctowl. Lead with Infernape and Garchomp. Garchomp's Stone Edge will deal out Noctowl, and Infernape will deal with anything else. Salamence and Scizor should be your backup Pokémon, if somehow your leads go down.

Opponent 2 - Sheni

Sheni's Team: Drapion, Bibarel, Toxicroak, Ambipom, Seaking, Chimecho

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Salamence, Staraptor, Scizor

Strategy: Garchomp and Salamence leads are great for this match. Garchomp is free to spam his Earthquake, while Salamence fires off Dragon Pulse. Staraptor and Scizor should be your backup Pokémon, as they can deal with this team easily as well.

Opponent 3 - Pania

Pania's Team: Crobat, Milotic, Golduck, Pelipper, Cherrim, Rapidash

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Infernape, Salamence, Staraptor

Strategy: This one is a bit more difficult. Garchomp and Infernape should lead here. Garchomp's Stone Edge will deal with Crobat and Pelipper. Infernape's Grass Knot hits Milotic and Golduck, Flamethrower deals with Cherrim, and Close Combat is a likely OHKO on Rapidash. Salamence and Staraptor will be able to finish off the oppponent's team. If the opponent only has two Pokémon left, and you need to send Salamence out, don't be afraid to fire off a Draco Meteor if you need to smash through a healthy Milotic, as long as you have other Pokémon still kicking around.

Set Leader - Sashay

Sashay's Team: Raichu, Gengar, Weavile, Mismagius, Vespiquen, Spiritomb

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Scizor, Staraptor, Vaporeon

Strategy: Sashay has an annoying team to deal with. Infernape and Scizor leads should do well. Infernape's Flamethrower deals with Raichu, Gengar, Weavile and Vespiquen. Scizor's Bullet Punch will get rid of Gengar and Weavile as well. Scizor's Night Slash OHKOs Mismagius. Spiritomb can only be hit neutrally by any attacks, but repeated STAB attacks will make short work of it. Staraptor and Vaporeon are what I'd Recommend for the backup for this match.

Having beaten Sashay, you're now 1/4th of the way there!

Set Three

Opponent 1 - Granju

Granju's Team: Azumarill, Sudowoodo, Clefable, Roserade, Purugly, Spiritomb

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Infernape, Garchomp, Scizor

Strategy: Staraptor and Infernape can probably OHKO this whole team. If Azumarill leads, have Staraptor use Brave Bird on it, and hopefully it doesn't have Aqua Jet, or else Infernape will go down. This match isn't too difficult, though, just smash through them.

Opponent 2 - Lyon

Lyon's Team: Drifblim, Golem, Octillery, Mismagius, Steelix, Crobat

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Staraptor, Garchomp, Scizor

Strategy: Infernape and Staraptor deal with with team rather nicely, as per usual. Infernape's Grass Knot brings down Golem, Flamethrower melts Steelix. Garchomp's Stone Edge will make short work of Crobat. Scizor's Night Slash will rid you of Mismagius. Drifblim is handled by Staraptor's Brave Bird, as is Octillery.

Opponent 3 - Rokio

Rokio's Team: Gyarados, Torterra, Bastiodon, Bronzong, Whiscash, Luxray

Recommended Squad: Salamence, Vaporeon, Infernape, Staraptor

Strategy: This one can be annoying. Salamence and Vaporeon make up good leads here. Intimidate lowers the opponent's effectiveness, and opposing Intimidate won't ruin either of your leads. Salamence's Draco Meteor will smash through most of this team, aside from Bastiodon and Bronzong. Vaporeon can deal with Bastiodon, and Ice Beam will deal with Torterra (after being Intimidated, Torterra won't be doing significant damage to Vaporeon). Infernape can deal with most of this team, but doesn't like going up against Gyarados, even with ThunderPunch. Staraptor is a good offensive force to punch through bulkier Pokémon, and the Intimidate is helpful.

Set Leader - Kruger

Kruger's Team: Drapion, Ambipom, Honchkrow, Skuntank, Machamp, Medicham

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Scizor, Salamence

Strategy: Garchomp's Earthquake gets rid of Drapion and Skuntank, and Garchomp handles the rest of the team. Not much to say here, Kruger is pathetically easy this time around. Scizor can Bullet Punch Ambipom and Medicham to break them before they can do anything. Salamence's Intimidate comes in handy, and his powerful STAB Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor, if you're in an end-game position, will allow you to beat Kruger with ease.

Set Four

Opponent 1 - Karen

Karen's Team: Mantine, Toxicroak, Quagsire, Scizor, Bastiodon, Weavile

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Infernape, Salamence, Scizor

Strategy: This one isn’t easy, but you can do it! Toxicroak is the only Pokémon that Infernape can't hit Super Effectively, which is why leading with Staraptor is ideal. Salamence has Intimidate and good power backed with great STABs, so it can make finishing this game easier. Scizor is there because getting rid of Weavile will help, since Staraptor and Salamence don't like Weavile, if Infernape goes down.

Opponent 2 - Pasut

Pasut's Team: Rotom, Clefable, Floatsel, Staraptor, Bronzong, Heracross

Recommended Squad: Salamence, Garchomp, Infernape, Staraptor

Strategy: Leading with your two Dragons, this one shouldn't be too difficult. Watch out for Bronzong. I'm unsure of whether or not this one has Levitate or Heatproof, since I didn't encounter it, but when dealing with any Bronzong, you have to assume it has Levitate, since Fire moves will still damage Heatproof versions, but Ground moves won't hurt Levitate Pokémon at all. Anyway, this is pretty straightforward. Bronzong is the main one to watch for here, aside from that, the rest of the team shouldn't give you much trouble.

Opponent 3 - Rokio

Rokio's Team: Gastrodon, Golem, Rampardos, Lumineon, Probopass, Hippowdon

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Vaporeon, Salamence, Scizor

Strategy: Infernape and Vaporeon make a good pair to lead with this time around. Infernape gets rid of Gastrodon, Rampardos, and hits everything the opponent has hard. Vaporeon's Hydro Pump will make short work of Hippowdon, Golem and Probopass. Lumineon is unlikely to be OHKO'd by ThunderPunch or Grass Knot, but it's also not a huge threat. Salamence's Sp. Attack deals this entire team hard blows, and Scizor can get rid of end-game Rampardos, Golem and Probopass.

Set Leader - Mysterial

Mysterial's Team: Palkia, Garchomp, Snorlax, Lucario, Charizard, Uxie

Mysterial's Team: Dialga, Garchomp, Snorlax, Lucario, Meganium, Azelf

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Salamence, Vaporeon, Scizor

Strategy: Mysterial uses the first team if you're playing with a Diamond Version Cart, the second if you're using Pearl. I was using SoulSilver, and got the Palkia Version of his team, but regardless of which one you're pit against, the recommended squad is the same. Garchomp is the main Pokémon here. His Earthquake will deal with Dialga and Outrage (should it choose to target Palkia) will OHKO Palkia. Outrage will also deal with opposing Garchomp. Salamence's Draco Meteor is there to help soften Dialga as well, and Intimidate will weaken the opposing Garchomp, Snorlax or Lucario. Vaporeon can deal with Garchomp and Charizard, while Scizor brings down Uxie, Azelf, Meganium, Lucario, Snorlax, as well as having the option of using Bullet Punch to bring down significantly weakened opposing Garchomp, Meganium and the pixies. This is not an easy fight, because it's not a fair fight, but you'd better get used to seeing Ubers. Mysterial doesn't play by the rules.

Set Five

Opponent 1 - Itan

Itan's Team: Hitmonchan, Camerupt, Kangaskhan, Venomoth, Absol, Ursaring

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Infernape, Salamence, Garchomp

Strategy: Not nearly as threatening as our last match, eh? This one is fairly simple. Staraptor deals with Hitmonchan, and Brave Bird really does a number on anything in this team. Infernape handles Kangaskhan, Absol, Venomoth and Ursaring. Salamence and Garchomp provide strong backup to clear out whatever is left, if need be.

Opponent 2 - Demos

Demos's team: Gallade, Magnezone, Magmortar, Lickilicky, Porygon-Z, Tangrowth

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Garchomp, Infernape, Salamence

Strategy: Staraptor and Garchomp do well as leads here. Garchomp's Earthquake will ruin Magnzeone and Magmortar. It also deals good damage to the rest of the team except Tangrowth. Staraptor deals out Gallade and Tangrowth with Brave Bird, or Close Combat will put a dent in Lickilicky and OHKO Porygon-Z. Infernape and Salamence deal with the team in much the same way, together able to bring down everything the opponent has.

Opponent 3 - Rastea

Rastea's Team: Vaporeon, Espeon, Leafeon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Flareon

Recommended Squad: Staraptor, Garchomp, Infernape, Scizor

Strategy: This one isn't difficult, really. Garchomp and Staraptor can deal with the entire team. Infernape and Scizor will rid you of Glaceon and Espeon, if they survive a hit and bring something down. Really, this one's a nice break from the more difficult battles we've seen.

Set Leader - Joe

Joe's Team: Arcanine, Entei, Lapras, Suicune, Electivire, Raikou

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Salamence, Garchomp, Staraptor

Strategy: Joe has gotten much better since our last meeting with him. This is a difficult match, because he's got all three of the legendary dogs, and his team is annoying to handle in general. Depending on what he brings out first, you could have a difficult time. Infernape's Close Combat will make short work of Lapras and Electivire, as well as hurting everything else. Salamence's Hydro Pump deals with the Fire types, Draco Meteor is good to bring Raikou and Suicune to their knees. Garchomp's Earthquake smashes through this team, and is probably how you'll be ending this game. Staraptor is mostly to allow Garchomp to fire off Earthquakes freely, as well as hurting things with STAB Returns or Brave Birds.

Set Six

Opponent 1 - Prea

Prea's Team: Houndoom, Blastoise, Yanmega, Persian, Jynx, Altaria

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Infernape, Scizor

Strategy: We begin our sixth set against Prea. Prea's team isn't too great individually, but can be annoying to deal with as a whole. Garchomp, as always, has his Outrage to use, should you be facing up against either Yanmega or Altaria. If you feel you can risk it, Stone Edge will OHKO Yanmega, due to it taking x4 damage from it. If neither of your foes are of the winged variety, Earthquake will deal out Houndoom, as well as dealing okay damage to Blastoise, Persian and Jynx. Staraptor's Brave Bird will deal good damage to everything here, and Close Combat will knock out Persian. Infernape will allow you to finish off weakened Blastoise with Grass Knot, as well as knocking out anything that isn't Altaria. Scizor's Bullet Punch can also finish off weakened foes, aside from Blastoise.

Opponent 2 - Zeran

Zeran's Team: Metagross, Blaziken, Hitmonlee, Glalie, Swalot, Gengar

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Infernape, Scizor

Strategy: FINALLY, a Trainer that has cool Pokémon. Garchomp's Earthquake deals with Blaziken, and will punch a hole in Metagross, a likely 2HKO. Swalot, Hitmonlee and Glalie are all hit by Earthquake, and Staraptor's Brave Bird can finish any of them off. Gengar is a pest, but a Brave Bird will OHKO it. Infernape and Scizor provide end-game cleanup as per usual.

Opponent 3 - Adome

Adome's Team: Alakazam, Wobbuffet, Ninetales, Dewgong, Dusknoir, Lickilicky

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Infernape, Scizor

Strategy: Alakazam and Ninetales go down to Earthquake. If Wobbuffet is one of the two leading Pokémon, use Garchomp's Earthquake, and Staraptor's Brave Bird to bring it down before it can do anything to wreck havoc. Don't take Wobbuffet lightly, it's one of the most dangerous Pokémon in the game. Infernape's Close Combat will bring down Dewgong and Lickilicky, and Flamethrower puts a dent in Dusknoir. Scizor's Bullet Punch comes in handy again, being able to bring Alakazam down at full health. Bug Bite for late-game Wobbuffet, Night Slash for Dusknoir, Superpower for Lickilicky. Be careful, and you'll get through this one okay. Don't ever let one Pokémon attack Wobbuffet without the other attacking it too, Counter or Mirror Coat will murder one of your Pokémon instantly.

Set Leader - Sashay

Sashay's Team: Milotic, Registeel, Togekiss, Umbreon, Deoxys (Defense), Giratina

Recommended Squad: Salamence, Infernape, Garchomp, Scizor

Strategy: Yet again we have an Uber using set leader, and it isn't easy to beat her. What we're doing here is very specific: Salamence lead slams Milotic or Togekiss with Draco Meteors, as it's the only way to dispose of it before it can kill Infernape. Infernape deals with Registeel with Flamethrower, and Umbreon wit Close Combat. Garchomp's Outrage is for Giratina, and Scizor is there to deal with Deoxys-D. Deoxys is very defensive, much like Wobbuffet, so if you can afford to do so, hit it with two Pokémon at once. This is a tough battle to win; Your team has the tools to come out on top, it's just a matter of what they choose to use, and when. Good luck, stay focused!

Set Seven

Opponent 1 - Cuwon

Cuwon's Team: Blissey, Aggron, Ludicolo, Hariyama, Dragonite, Gardevoir

Recommended Squad: Scizor, Vaporeon, Staraptor, Infernape

Strategy: Keep Vaporeon alive at all costs. It is your best bet for dealing with Dragonite. Scizor can bring down Blissey, Aggron, Ludicolo and Gardevoir using Superpower for the former two, and Bug Bite for the latter two. Staraptor deals with Hariyama, and Infernape is there for finishing things off late-game.

Opponent 2 - Eturo

Eturo's Team: Rhyperior, Manectric, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Starmie, Togekiss

Recommended Squad: Salamence, Vaporeon, Garchomp, Infernape

Strategy: Salamence doesn't fear anything here except for an Ice Beam from Starmie. Just smash something with a Draco Meteor or Dragon Pulse if you're confident Mence will stay alive long enough for it to be worth it. If Manectric is one of the leads, use Protect with Vaporeon, and try battering Manectric with a Dragon Pulse from Salamence. Garchomp can come in later on and clean up with Outrage. Infernape can deal with Gyarados, provided it doesn't get Intimidated. ThunderPunch from Infernape does 89-105% with ThunderPunch after Intimidate, so it's a risk to ThunderPunch it after an Intimdate.

Opponent 3 - Razma

Razma's Team: Regigigas, Swalot, Sceptile, Mew, Slaking, Shiftry

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Scizor, Salamence

Strategy: Razma has a clear strategy in mind, and it's annoying. Razma will use Mew to Skill Swap either Slaking or Regigigas' ability away from them, allowing them to hit you full force. He can also use Swalot's Gastro Acid to remove their ability completely. What I'm Recommending is that you use Earthquake to hit both of the Pokémon the opponent has, and use Staraptor to finish off the Pokémon that isn't Mew. After Mew uses Skill Swap, it'll be easy to remove from play, but don't count it out completely. Left unchecked, it can Skill Swap the useless ability onto one of your Pokémon. Scizor is Recommended since Bullet Punch can finish off weakened Pokémon, and Salamence's Intimidate can come in handy for making the opponent less threatening, as well as being able to deal with the opposing team well with his STAB Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor or Flamethrower. This match is annoying, but if you don't get unnerved by Mew's presence, it's not unbeatable.

Set Leader - Kruger

Kruger's Team: Regice, Latias, Zapdos, Heatran, Regirock, Azelf

Recommended Squad: Scizor, Staraptor, Vaporeon, Garchomp

Strategy: Alright, this is hard, and if they lead with the right two Pokémon, this could go very bad very fast. Scizor beats Regice, Regirock and Azelf with Bullet Punch, and Latias will go down from a Bug Bite. Staraptor is leading for one reason - to OHKO Heatran with Close Combat before it can do anything to Scizor. Vaporeon can beat Heatran and Regirock, as well as allow Garchomp to Earthquake, if the last two Pokémon you're facing are Heatran and Regirock. Garchomp's Outrage is a great move to plow through this team, just be sure Heatran is gone before you do it. This match isn't overly difficult, but you have to be careful about what you do. One wrong move can end this for you.

Set Eight

We're finally here, the last four matches! Don't get confident, these four opponents all have clear strategies that they will unleash to attempt to bring you down with them.

Opponent 1 - Coco

Coco's Team: Articuno, Abomasnow, Mamoswine, Frosslass, Walrein, Jirachi

Recommended Squad: Infernape, Scizor, Garchomp, Salamence

Strategy: Coco will always lead with Abomasnow as one of her leads, to get the hail started. This is actually the easiest match since Cozmo the Bug Catcher. Use Close Combat on Abomasnow, not Flamethrower, since it has an Occa Berry. Bullet Punch will remove any Ice types. Flamethrower will melt Jirachi... and the entire rest of her team. Honestly, just spam Flamethrower/Close Combat and Bullet Punch, you'll do fine.

Opponent 2 - Flut

Flut's Team: Tyranitar, Garchomp, Claydol, Gliscor, Armaldo, Omastar

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Vaporeon, Infernape

Strategy: Flut will always lead with Abomasnow as one of his leads, to get the Sandstorm started. This match isn't so easy. The opposing Tyranitar has a Chople Berry, so what I Recommend is using Earthquake from Garchomp, and U-Turn from Staraptor to finish it off, bringing in Vaporeon. Vaporeon can bring down the rest of this team, but be careful of Cradily. It will spam Double Team, so it has to be dealt with quickly. Infernape's Cose Combat will bring Cradily down.

Opponent 3 - Canata

Canata's Team: Slowbro, Snorlax, Slowking, Parasect, Rhyperior, Marowak

Recommended Squad: Salamence, Scizor, Infernape, Staraptor

Strategy: Canata will always lead with either Slowbro or Slowking. The reason here is Trick Room. This entire team is suited to bring you down with Trick Room tactics, and quite a nasty trick it is. Dragon Pulse followed by Bug Bite will bring down either Psychic Pokémon, and Salamence's Intimidate will soften the blow from whatever else the opponent has. Beware of Curse Snorlax, though, it can become impossible to beat if it gets too many Defense boosts, and in Trick Room, you might as well quit. Be sure to kill off both Slowbro and Slowking without them getting Trick Room up, or else you're going to be in for a very difficult time. Infernape can punch a hole in Snorlax, beats Parasect, beats Marowak, and can deal hefty damage to Rhyperior. I believe both Rhyperior and Marowak are running Lightningrod, to prevent Electric attacks from hitting Slowbro and Slowking, so Rhyperior likely doesn't have Solid Rock to take advantage of. Staraptor's Intimidate will further soften blows from the opposition, and Close Combat will go a ways in dealing with Snorlax and Rhyperior. Brave Bird deals with Parasect, and is there to serve as Staraptor's overall strongest move.

Set Leader - Mysterial

Mysterial's Team: Palkia, Kyogre, Mewtwo, Latios, Manaphy, Lugia

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Salamence, Staraptor, Scizor

Strategy: Oh... dear. Kyogre is always going to lead, to ensure chaos begins immediately. Garchomp's Outrage is going to hurt something. It's best if it targets Palkia or Latios, but everything on the entire team is a threat in complete honesty. Salamence's Draco Meteor is great to OHKO things as well, but most things will outspeed Salamence on this team, so tread carefully. Staraptor's Brave Bird is powerful, and can help in finishing off weakened foes, or punching giant holes into things. Scizor's Bug Bite rids you of Latios and Mewtwo. Honestly, this match has so many ways to go wrong, you're more likely to end up on the losing end of it. It may take repeated tries to beat Mysterial, but if Outrage targets the right Pokémon, and if Scizor's Quick Claw activates, you may be able to bring down the big threats before they do anything. Good luck, you'll need it!

Mysterial's Team: Dialga, Groudon, Mewtwo, Latios, Cherrim, Ho-Oh

Recommended Squad: Garchomp, Staraptor, Scizor, Salamence

Strategy: Consider yourself lucky if this is the team Mysterial is using, but don't think it'll be easy. Mysterial is probably leading with Groudon to begin Harsh sunlight. Cherrim can make Groudon a pain to bring down, boosting the defenses of Groudon. Staraptor's Intimidate will make Groudon a bit less threatening, and Staraptor is a reliable way to bring down Cherrim. Garchomp's Earthquake is great for bringing Dialga to it's knees, but unfortunately, not much else. You may have to switch Garchomp out and bring it back in, so it can Outrage the likes of Latios, or Stone Edge Ho-Oh. Scizor's Bug Bite deals with Mewtwo or Latios, but watch out for Ho-Oh's Sacred Fire, and Mewtwo may have Flamethrower. Salamence's Draco Meteor is powerful, and can punch holes into the opposition.

That's it! This is the biggest challenge Pokémon Battle Revolution has to offer, and beating it earns you the ability to buy lots of new things in the shop. But beating it is difficult, and maybe you don't have some of the Pokémon I've recommended here? Or maybe you have access to some better Pokémon, and would like to know how they could be used effectively? Fear not, I have written a section for you!

Possible Replacement Pokémon:

Darkrai@ Life Orb/Expert Belt {Bad Dreams} Timid nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP Dark Void Dark Pulse Thunder/ Thunderbolt/ Ice Beam Focus Blast/Spacial Rend

Dark Void will put one of the two opponents to sleep, due to Sleep Clause, but you can't choose which. Still, with blistering 135 base Speed, Darkrai can reliably take one opponent out of the game with Sleep for a few turns. Dark Pulse is STAB, and hits a lot of Ubers Super Effectively. Thunder is for hitting Mysterial's Rainy Pokémon Super Effectively. Thunderbolt is an all-around option, and has good coverage. Ice Beam also has good coverage, but less than Thunderbolt in this case. Focus Blast hits Dialga, Tyranitar, and many other Pokémon Super Effectively. Dark and Fighting have amazing neutral coverage together. Spacial Rend comes from an event, but so do all Darkrai. If yours has Spacial Rend, it deals good damage against Palkia (ironically), and any Dragon. Latios is still hit harder by Dark Pulse, though, due to being Psychic type, and Dark Pulse getting STAB.

Deoxys-A@ Life Orb {Pressure} Naive nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 Attack Thunder/Thunderbolt Ice Beam Superpower Shadow Ball/Psycho Boost/ Psychic/ Flamethrower

This is one of the Pokémon I used, and it made my life infinitely easier. Thunder and Ice Beam were useful in dealing with Mysterial's rain team. If you're going against Sun, Thunderbolt hits Ho-Oh. Ice Beam deals with Dragons. Superpower hits Tyranitar and Dialga. Shadow Ball is what I used, but thinking back, it didn't really do much at all for me... Psycho Boost will allow Deoxys to OHKO anything not resistant that isn't Blissey. Psychic is more reliable, and doesn't force Deoxys to switch out. Flamethrower boosted by Groudon's Sun will deal good damage, and it rounds out coverage pretty well, but is mostly filler.

Blissey@ Leftovers {Natural Cure} Bold nature EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Defense/ 6 Sp. Defense Seismic Toss Softboiled Thunder Wave Protect/ Toxic/ Ice Beam/ Aromatherapy

The reason this isn't Recommended is only because obtaining a Blissey with this moveset is difficult. It needs to be bred in 3rd generation, as Seismic Toss is a FR/LG/E move tutor. Blissey is amazing for this competition. Seismic Toss deals 100 solid damage per turn. Softboiled keeps Blissey alive. Thunder Wave slows opponents to a crawl, which is very helpful for any team. Protect gives Blissey a turn of not being hit by anything, and healing 6% freely, as well as allowing you to launch Earthquakes without worrying over Blissey's safety. Toxic can break down walls such as that Double Teaming Cradily. Ice Beam is a good situational filler move, and Aromatherapy lets you rid your team of the occasional status, such as Sleep or random Paralysis. Aromatherapy is an Egg move from Roselia family.

Blaziken@ Choice Scarf {Blaze} Adamant nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Attack/ 6 Defense Flare Blitz Superpower Stone Edge ThunderPunch

Blaziken is actually stronger than Infernape, but the problem is his Speed is middling, so he's forced to use Choice Scarf. Despite being forced to be a hit-and-run Pokémon, Blaziken can OHKO many foes before they can do anything about it, and has the natural power to not rely on Life Orb. Blaziken becomes an effective way to beat Tyranitar, Dialga, Ho-Oh, Snorlax, and many other threats. ThunderPunch always OHKOs Gyarados after Intimidate. Just saying. If you don't have access to Infernape, Blaziken is an amazing Pokémon to fill the spot, and while Infernape is more overall useful, Blaziken is useful in ways that Infernape isn't, due to Scarf allowing it to outspeed everything and hit it with huge power.

Heatran@ Choice Scarf {Flash Fire} Naive nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 Attack Fire Blast/ Flamethrower Earth Power Hidden Power Ice Explosion

Good luck getting this. If you happen to somehow have it, though, it can be useful if you can't get Infernape or Blaziken. Fire Blast stems from impressive Sp. Attack, Earth Power and HP Ice for coverage. Pair Heatran with something with Protect, and it can use Explosion to possibly bring down both of your opponents at once.

Kyorge@ Choice Scarf/ Choice Specs {Drizzle} Timid nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP Water Spout Hydro Pump Thunder Ice Beam

Say goodbye to the opposition. STAB Water Spout in Rain hits both opponents. At full health, Water Spout has 150 base power. When Kyogre takes a hit, Hydro Pump becomes stronger, though it only hits one opponent. Thunder has perfect accuracy, and can smash opposing Kyogre. Ice Beam is good for coverage.

Latios@ Soul Dew {Levitate} Timid nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 HP Dragon Pulse Psychic Thunder/ Thunderbolt Draco Meteor

This is a better version of the Salamence I've Recommended for use. Works exactly the same, but Soul Dew makes it stronger without locking it into a single move. STABs for STABing, Thunder if you're abusing Rain or are facing Mysterial with Kyogre, Thunderbolt otherwise. Draco Meteor can punch gaping holes into things to ensure they're not a threat, since they'll more than likely be dead. The one thing about Latios, though, is that it lacks Flamethrower, and thus, lacks a reliable move to use against Steel types.

Machamp@ Leftovers/ Chesto Berry {No Guard} Adamant nature EVs: 252 Attack/ 252 HP/ 6 Sp. Defense DynamicPunch Stone Edge Payback Bullet Punch/ Rest

Machamp is a great Pokémon, and brings along with it No Guard, which allows all Pokémon on the field to have perfect accuracy, friend and foe alike. DynamicPunch is powerful STAB, also causing confusion. Stone Edge hits a lot of Pokémon Super Effectively, and loses the accuracy risk. Payback hits Psychic and Ghost types. Bullet Punch will allow Machamp to finish off weakened foes, but you can use Chesto Rest to bring Machamp back to full health once each match.

Gengar@ Life Orb {Levitate} Hasty nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 Attack Shadow Ball Focus Blast Thunderbolt/ Icy Wind Explosion

Gengar brings with it immunity to Earthquake and Explosion, allowing team-mates to fire off high power attacks without risk. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast provide perfect neutral coverage, with Thunderbolt hitting situational counters. Icy Wind hits both opponents, and lowers their Speed one stage, providing support for your team. Explosion allows Gengar to go out with a bang. Obviously pair this with a Protect user.

Alakazam@ Life Orb/ Choice Specs {Synchronize} Timid nature EVs: 252 Speed/ 252 Sp. Attack/ 6 Sp. Defense Psychic Focus Blast Shadow Ball Energy Ball/ Trick

An all-out special attacker, but kinda outdated for gen 4. Still, it packs a punch, but you'll often find that it doesn't pack quite enough of a punch, and will fall short of KOing things that you really wish it would have KO'd. Psychic is STAB, Focus Blast for coverage, Shadow Ball for Psychic types. Energy Ball hits... uhm... that one Gastrodon. Yeah. Trick can ruin something maybe, but doubles is less about stall, so you could just end up boosting something's power and allowing it to knock you out.
