This episode is essential viewing because: Ash continues to battle in the League. Ash starts to battle Harrison.

The match between Harrison and Ash has just started. Harrison started out with Kecleon and Ash started out with Pikachu. Then Kecleon suddenly disappears and Ash warns Pikachu to be careful. THen it appears again and from the audience Oak mentions that there are a lot of pokemon Ash hasn't seen yet. Delia comments that if Ash wins this match he'll be in the top four.

As Kecleon keeps disappearing while it's patterns can still be seen Pikachu searches for it. It finds Kecleon and tries quick attack but he doesn't succeed and Kecleon disappears into the high grass. Ash tells Pikachu to listen to where Kecleon is. He listens carefully and hears Kecleon and runs to it but then Kecleon uses its tung to paralyze Pikachu. It nows succeeds to camouflage itself again and to confuse Pikachu by running around. Then kecleon wants to fire a psybeam but Pikachu comes back to its senses and avoids it. He goes for another lick but Pikachu rushes into the grass. Kecleon uses its tung to cut the grass and then throws his tung at Pikachu when he spots him but Pikachu grabs its tung and then uses its thunderbolt to defeat Kecleon.

As Harrison thanks Kecleon, Ash asks if Pikachu can still fight and it says it can. Harrison then sends out his Sneasel. Ash starts off by letting Pikachu use thunderbolt but Sneasel uses its agility to avoid the bolt and attacks by using metal claw on Pikachu. It's a direct hit and Pikachu faints. Ash carries it back to Misty and Brock and congratulates it on a good match. Ash then sends out his Totodile and orders it to use watergun which Sneasel dodges. Sneasel encounters it with a metal claw but Totodile bites Sneasel and surrounds his hand which causes Sneasel not be able to attack Totodile. Totodile then smashes up in the air and on the floor again while still holding the claw of Sneasel. This causes Sneasel to faint and Harrison returns it to its pokeball.

Harrison sends out his Hypno and Totodile starts off by doing his scary face but it has no effect. Hypno does his hypnosis attack which dozes Totodile off. He uses its psychic attack to send Totodile flying and letting it faint.

Ash then sends out his Snorlax but it stays asleep on the battle field. Ash tells it's a good defense now it's sleeping but Misty wonders if Ash is right. Harrison orders Hypno to use dream eater and a red glow surrounds Snorlax. It then wakes up and is furious. It unleashes some hyper beams and lets Hypno faint. Now that Harrison lost three pokemon it's time for a break.

Ash talks to Misty and Brock and sees Gary waving at him. Ash comments that he will make Gary proud of him. Team Rocket in the meanwhile wonders what to do. They think that they should sell the badges and get something nice for the boss.

When the break ends, Harrison sends out his Steelix and Ash sends out his Noctowl. Noctowl starts off with confusion which damages Steelix a bit but Steelix causes a sandstorm which makes it impossible for Noctowl to look around him. Steelix then digs underground and hits Noctowl. Misty and Brock are surprised at how fast Steelix is. Noctowl tries to use hypnosis but Steelix hits it with iron tail and making Noctowl faint.

Snorlax is send out into the battle and Steelix wraps its body around Snorlax's. Snorlax then uses its ice punch and smashes Steelix. Then Snorlax quickly unleashes its hyperbeam and causing it to faint.

Harrison now sends out Houndoom. Ash orders for another hyper beam but Harrison orders for a counter attack and the hyper beam heads straight back at Snorlax causing it to faint. Delia comments that went by really fast and that it doesn't look good for Ash. Oak explains to her that Counter sends the attack back to the pokemon and with twice the power.

Ash in the meanwhile has returned Snorlax and sends Bayleef into the battle. Bayleef starts off with razor leaf but Houndoom uses flamethrower to burn the leafs. Bayleef uses headbutt but it misses and uses its vines to cover Houndoom's mouth so it can't fire any flamesa gain. Harrison says it's a good tactic and Bayleef smashes Houndoom on the floor. It finishes it off with Body slam and Houndoom is returned by Harrison.

Harrison now sends out his Hoenn pokemon Blaziken. Professor Oak is amazed to look at this pokemon and says it must be from the Hoenn region. Ash checks his pokedex and finds some information about the pokemon now. Bayleef tries a razor leaf but Blaziken kicks them away. Bayleef then uses its vines again but Blaziken grabs them and throws Bayleef away. Bayleef tries to use body slam but Blaziken uses its fire punch and the battle is over for Bayleef.

Ash returns Bayleef and knows he's got a strong opponent so he sends out Charizard causing this to be the ultimate fire pokemon battle ever!
