Updated! 10/8/02!

According the Corocoro, a Japanese magazine, the new "world" that Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire will be set in will be called "Houen". Remember, its weird because its Japanese. There is both bad news, and interesting news this time round.

First, it is now clear that animations like those featured in Pokémon Crystal will not be present this time around, but the familiar "shaking" during some attacks is still there. However, the Pokéballs are animated, spinning from the trainers hand etc.

Secondly an update on how the two way battle system works:
It seems that the Pokémon involved are the first two in your party. On attacking, your Pokémon move up and down to indicate which Pokémon you are using at that point (but you do get two attacks per turn, one per Pokémon), and on selecting an attack you can then select which Pokémon you want it to hit. This is shown by the other trainers' Pokémon flashing.
