As PUK scrapes the barrel for news to make up for the horrible server thing (don't ask), we have a load of dreadful puns on a GMTV presenters name after an incident this morning.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Alternative headline: "Ea-monn used amnesia!"

Prof Clo has alerted our attention to an incident live on Breakfast television this morning.

On GMTV, Eamonn Holmes was reading out an e-mail relating to the Safeway bidding war that was going on. It had been nicknamed "Aardvark", apparently. The horrors get worse.

An e-mail was sent in, it was read out by none other than TV's answer to Weetabix, Eamonn Holmes.

As Pokémon fans nationwide's stomach juices where mutilating corn flakes, the TV said, "there is a snake Pokémon named Aardvark". No, really.

As it turns out, the unsuspecting e-mailer was actually getting at Arbok- the pun being spelt backwards its a Kobra. This is associated with Safeway like the Catholic church is with McCain Micro Chips.

Anyway, to conclude: It happend, it was rather amusing, and it gave PUK a news update that allowed factual data to be at a minimum. Also, its not Eamonn's fault, its the e-mails, we're just victimising him.
