The New York Pokémon Center store are having a Halloween "bash" (as they call it) on, oddly enough, Saturday October 25th.

Aside from a Pinball tournament from 11am to 5pm (will it be Pinball RS or a real pinball table?), the big "crowd puller" of the day being a costume contest.

This contest invites kids to dress up as Pokémon- and then the costumes will be judged in three categories: Creativity, detailing, and effort. Much like Robot Wars, really.

Judged by three staff members, the top five people will get $100 gift certificates to spend in store. The "press release" makes a big point of it being judged PROMPTLY at 2pm. No nonsense, given the seriousness of a Pokémon costume contest.

Also on offer from the "Catch 'em all station", where you can download Pokémon to your game cartridge are some vaguely Halloween themed monsters. Namely, Aggron, Exploud, Wailord, and Cardaunt.
