Even though the "craze" is long gone it seems the Pokémon animé and games can still reach Number One in America.

According to pokemon.com the video for the latest movie Heroes was at the top of the chart last week. Overall it was the Number 3 video against every other movie that week. To add that, new episodes of the animé (currently titled Advanced) that air Saturday mornings on Kids WB continually get the Number One network spot.

Not only that, NPD (the research firm behind numbers for the video game industry) claims that Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire were the second and third best video games in the US last year. If sales were combined they would be the top selling video game of last year. This was certainly echoed in the UK release, as RS went straight in at the top of the charts and remained for several weeks.
