Can you believe it? I certainly couldn't until Mike reminded me- PUK has now been going for five years. Wasted youth? You decide.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

It was January 10th 2000, just ten days into the new millenium, when Psythor decided to develop a website dedicated to spotting satanic verses in UKIP speeches played backwards, as well as Pokémon.

Five years later, not much has changed, apart from the satanist bit was dropped, and is now merely embedded deeply into the subtext of most pages. Also, we now use posh PHP and loads of people have helped me along the way.

I've created the flash film below to try and explain the history of PUK, in a bit more depth- but then due to awkward exam timing, I rushed the ending and made it crappy.

Nevertheless, all of us as PKMN.NET/Pokémon UK/PUK/NRA hope that you've enjoyed the previous five years as much as we all have, and we hope that you'll continue to visit regually, and perhaps send us unmarked bank notes through the post in bags that have dollar signs on the side.

A couple of interesting milestones for PUK include a couple who met through PUK forums are now having a baby! Seriously. It's apparently due in about a month, so we wish Prof Clo and Captfalcon the best of luck, and with their permission, we'll tell you more in... about a month. In exciting events of similar magnitude- PUK has now achieved over 20,000 registered users and recieves thousands of hits everyday- I'd like to thank you all for justifying what is so far my lifes work, and making the hours I've slaved away, or told people I've slaved away whilst actually playing minesweeper worthwhile.

It goes without saying that PUK wouldn't be what it is today without all of the contributors- all the admins, mods, staff members, contributors and readers, you've all made it what it is, and you should feel very proud. Proud and hungry. For a more excessive thank you, see the flash film. What's next? We have many big things planned. After scrapping the initial "let's make Joeno a robot" idea, we can safely say that what's coming in the mid-to-long term is very special indeed. Can't say too much about it at the moment, suffice to say "it will own you".

THANK YOU
