The price of the Gamecube has dropped significantly!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Due to Xbox's selling as well as piles of steaming turd, Microsoft has knocked 100 off the price of their console, giving it a retail price of 199.

In reaction to this, Nintendo have chopped about 40 off the average UK selling price of the Gamecube - from 169.99 to an average 129.99.

However, it seems you can at the moment only take advantage of this offer if you buy the Gamecube as part of a pack with a game - coming to a total of 169.99 (prices from Gameplay.com).

GAME and EB are charging slightly more for their console packs, but a significant price drop can also be seen - A 'cube and game previously sold for 219.99 now costs just 184.99 (prices from GAME UK and EB UK).

And all this before the console has even been released! They'll be giving them away soon...

This was in my latest Official European Gamecube Newsletter: "Nintendo has thrilled millions of gamers with the announcement of a 199 (129) launch price for their GameCube console. The May 3rd price change was announced as European gamers were enjoying breakfast, and was soon spread by Nintendo fans right across the continent."
