Nintendo confirms the upcoming remakes of Pokémon Gold and Silver!

Nintendo have confirmed that as widely predicted, Pokémon Gold and Silver, as with Red and Blue a few years ago, are set to be remade!
The games are confirmed to be called Pokémon Heart Gold and Pokémon Soul Silver. I like them personally. So what can we expect? A complete graphics overhaul, new places (possibly an expanded Kanto? There's a lot more memory now) and of course, the updated Generation IV battle system.
From a purely speculative point of view, I'd be very surprised if the game wasn't for the DS (with the chance there for optional bonus DSi features now), and given the location of the Pokémon League, I expect Kanto to still be there. Come to think of it, I expect Johto to still be there as well.
Let's look at some crucial questions, which could well be answered as early as Sunday with the latest release of Japanese supermag CoroCoro:
- How will the Apricorn system work now, if at all?
- Has the Olivine Battle Tower from Crystal been kept, and developed into a full Battle Frontier?
- Can we catch both Ho-oh and Lugia?
- How will the Time Machine now work? Well, there's data in the DPP games to allow the game to say a Pokémon comes from Johto, and since Jasmine is in Sunyshore City, does that mean DPP is effectively "the future?"
- How about a GS Ball event? Hello Celebi!

i do hope it's on the ds. i doubt it would be on anything else. really don't think it would work on anything but a handheld! also, i was just thinking about remakes the other day, while playing platinum. i'm glad they're remaking them, as while i own both silver and crystal, i've never played them. i have tried to a couple of years ago, but it's just not the same once you've played pokemon on the gba or ds, lol! so yeah, these would be whole new games to me =D looking forward to them!!

the symbols near the logo look awesome!Actually the symbols ARE Ho-oh and Lugia. I hope the english edition retains the symbol. :)
Yaaay new gold and silver! I gots a Crystal version, but it gets boring since can't run xD this will be awesome!
