Less talking, more clicking.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

So apparently Pokemon.com wasn't with the rest of the world for the last 5 or so months because today they revealed new Pokemon. Y'know, the B/W starters which we've known for ages. But hey, at least they gave us the dub names for them.

Tsutarja can be called Snivy.
Pokabu can be called Tepig.
Mijumaru can be called Oshawott.

The region also has been dubbed. Those who pick up their games some time next year will be exploring Unova, that, of course, being the dub name for Isshu.

Well this writer likes them. What about you? Express what you think below or go do something equally as cool.

Not too much of a fan of the name 'Snivy'.
Tepig is alright.
Oshawott sounds like a cross between 'Otter', 'Ocelot', and 'OshKosh B'gosh' children's apparel.

snivy and tepig are fine...

as long as oshawotttatbotsnottahrihghnvgg's evolutions have better names....

Snivy is one of the worst names I've ever heard on a Pokémon, along with Seel and Mr. Mime.
Oh well, that's what nicknames are for.

Beats Smugleaf, Piglit and Wotter any day of the year.

WHAT THE HECK KIND OF NAMES ARE THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SNIVY sounds plain and stupid, TEPIG sounds like a obese french wrestler and OSHOWATT just sounds like a dying animal spitting up a wad of loogie!!!!!!
piplup princess on Wed 24 Nov 2010 00:10:39 UTC.
UNOVA just sounds like you and nova, not very creative with the regional name or pokemon names, nintendo is definitely getting desperate to keep our amusement

There running out of ideas for names and looks with the pokemon. Snivy = sounds like a new ivy type plant, Tepig = sounds more like a new tea bag brand, Oshawott = it must be the name of the local car wash place.

.....thats kinda weird...... just the names! :P
Perfectmew on Wed 24 Nov 2010 05:28:54 UTC.
Snivy is "snake" and "ivy", most obviously. Tepig is "tepid" and "pig", also obvious. Oshawott is "Oshawa" and "otter". What's Oshawa? A random, virtually unknown town in Canada.
I honestly don't care for these names at all. Nothing that I can do, though. At least, I'll be able to tolerate them when I get White. Until then, though, I will see Tsutaja, Pokabu, and Mijumaru.
As for Unova... wtf. Isshu was an awesome name. Then again, so were Tsutaja, Pokabu, and Mijumaru. Darn you, Pokemon of America... darm you...

i dunno how these are 'uncreative' when they've been using the same methord/format dub names have been using since Dayone.

I wonder if hordes of Pokéfans will be travelling to Oshawa now? I like the new names. Now we'll just have to see what they do with Yorterri and Gears...

i'm pretty sure all of you will still buy the game even though you dont like the names :P
Moon Chaser on Wed 24 Nov 2010 17:15:11 UTC.
Tepig seem really uncreative. It is the pig if you add a space and a H
umbreons on Thu 25 Nov 2010 00:30:08 UTC.
IDC, he will always be Mijumaru to me.
blackpanter02 on Thu 25 Nov 2010 12:26:32 UTC.
^^ I thought Bulbasaur was part "bulb" as in seed and part dinosaur? That's why that weird flower on Venusaurs back made sense, it's some kind of prehistoric flowerthingy.
Also, let's be honest, the names are just as original as they've been for all the other generations.
piplup princess on Thu 25 Nov 2010 14:10:43 UTC.
they sound tacky to me. they seem more made up on the spot. if you ask me, i think they've got new writers who dont know how to think outside of the box. HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!
Mooseler on Thu 25 Nov 2010 18:10:55 UTC.
In a few years probably all of these pokemon and their names, plus all of the others will fit in and become more like pokemon and then no one should complain about it. That is until the next generation.
