As promised in January there will be a Pokémon game on the 3DS.... a new TCG game.
UPDATE: Teehee April Fools

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

With the recent launch of an online Pokémon TCG game on the official website (here) there were a number of us who thought it was time that they brought it back to the handhelds. This was doubly so when there was talk of a Pokémon game destined for the 3DS with no idea what it would be.

New leaked artwork has revealed that the new Pokémon project for the 3DS, the existence of which was confirmed in an announcement by Nintendo bigwig Satoru Iwata towards the end of January, has turned out to be Pokémon Trading Card Revolution. This further goes to prove that Nintendo are keen to label many games a revolution when they have run out of other superlatives.

So what does this mean for us apart from a rather weird title for Pokémon’s debut in three dimensions? I mean... would it not have been better to make a 3D Mystery Dungeon title?

Our thoughts are that Nintendo will continue their quest to link new and (possibly) doomed titles with a legendary giveaway. Pokémon Channel had Jirachi. Pokémon Ranger gave away Manaphy. Does this mean that TCR will give away a Genesect? Only time will tell people.

UPDATE:

A better scan of the box-art was found. We don't quite understand why it's in English... maybe they are planning a simutaneous release or something.

Not enough effort went in to that box. If your going to lie at least make it convincing.

... It's obviously shopped. The white outline on the Pokémon logo are indicative.

The Nintendo 3DS text should be on the left of the box, obviously an april fools joke.

No, it's on the right, that's correct. Check http://media.gamerevolution.com/images/boxshots/rayman-3d.jpg for reference.

I knew this was an April Fools as soon as I read the title. My favourite pkmn April Fools so far was the new admin one. :)

If you're going to make a fake tcg box, at least use a title font that doesn't look like it was ripped from a videogame. =P
Happy April first.
