Nidoqueen Remembers

Purugly is lying in bed worn out from crying; Nidoqueen is trying to comfort her.

Purugly: Why would the public want him out I don’t understand.

Nidoqueen: I know you miss him hun, this gameshow is over in a week and a half so we’ll be seeing him soon.

Purugly: I don’t know why this hurts so much; my heart feels like some peasant attacked it with his pitchfork.

Nidoqueen: It’s love. In the last few days you began to love him… and when the one you love is wrenched away it hurts.

Purugly: Will it stop?

Nidoqueen: It will when you see him again at the final night after party, then you can have closure. It’s lucky in a way that you know for a fact you will see him again…

Nidoqueen begins to stare into the distance

Nidoqueen: I mean… who knows if I will ever see any of my babies again. They could be halfway around the world by now competing in Pokémon battles in distant lands. I could have given birth to a champion.

Nidoqueen flashes a brief smile before bowing her head

Nidoqueen: Or they could be like me… and think about the family they have lost every single day.
