Combination moves can be very useful.
What they involve is you you use one move (usually a boost attack) followed on the next turn by a power attack.
Many people just go for one turn attacks over and over and over again but that's stupid.
I'm going to go through the top five most powerful combos in order so that they can improve gameplay.
1) Rain Dance + Thunder
This is a very good one and in my mind the best. If it is raining the move thunder will have 100% accuracy compaired to the normal 70%. Used against water pokemon who use the move rain dance to strengthen their moves. This one is good against Misty.
2) Sunny day + Solarbeam
Ever wondered why so many grass Pokémon own the move sunny day? This is why. Normally, solarbeam takes two turns to use, but if it is sunny, the pokemon gains the sunlight quickly, and can use it one just one turn.
3) Lock-on/Mind Reader + Zap Cannon/Dynamicpunch
Everyone knows this one but I'll go through it anyway. Lock-on and mind reader make your next attack hit, and zap cannon and dynamicpunch are very powerful moves with 50% accuracy. You can work it out.
4) Belly Drum + Rest + Snore/Sleep Talk
This one is for Snorlax. Use Belly Drum to raise your Pokemon strength, but you lose half your HP. Use Rest to recover it and while you're asleep you can use Snore/Sleep Talk to inflict some damage.
5) Defence curl + Rollout
Why does this work. The secret lies deep inside an old dusty box somewhere in India. After defence curl is used, on the next turn, the power of rollout is doubled.

6) Safeguard + Outrage
Safeguard prevents your Pokémon from becoming confused- this is useful because Outrage is a powerful attack with a draw back- it makes you confused. Using this combo you are left with a poweful attack. Page Updated 06/09/02 by Alex
7) Mean Look + Perish Song
Mean look traps the opponent and perish song causes them to faint three turns later.
8) Mean Look + Toxic
Mean Look traps the opponent so they can't retreat and Toxic will cause them a slow decline to fainting.
