In actual fact, the prize money you get is controlled, and to a certain extent can be controlled by you! Each trainer has a "value" (a number) that when put into a formulae, can be used to calculate how much cash you'll get.
The other value that is acted upon is the level of your defeated opponents last Pokémon used. For the mathematically minded of us, like that of the well known Poké-lover Albert Einstein, here's the formula:
In other words, if you win 160, and your opponent was a level 10 Rattata, the base money was 16. How utterly pointless you are thinking. Maybe not.
You can reverse the formula to work out the prize money from the base money:
What does this mean to you? Using a Pokémon with Roar, you can save the highest level for last, then "kick some ass" (as such) for maximum rewards.
