Victory Road
You'll need Pokemon who know HM03 (Surf), HM04 (Strength), HM05 (Flash), HM06 (Rock Smash) and HM07 (Waterfall) in order to fully explore Victory Road. On your travels you may find a Full Heal, Full Restore, Max Elixir, PP Up and TM29 (Psychic), but it's up to you to find these items. This guide just takes you from start to finish:
- As you enter Victory Road you arrive in the first room (let's call it Room A). Head straight upwards and go up the first set of steps you see. Follow the oath along the bridge and up. You'll face a trainer battle here. Defeat the trainer and go through the first ladder into Room B.
- Once in Room B, negotiate your way past the boulders by using Strength. Once you've got past, follow the path but turn right almost as soon as you've got round the corner. Smash the rock in the way with Rock Smash, and continue up the steps. Follow the path over the bridge until you go down some more steps. There should be a trainer there. Defeat the trainer and you should be left with a choice of moving up or down. Choose downwards. Follow the path left and go through the ladder into Room C.
- Room C is easily recognisable as it is the only room with water in it. When you arrive in Room C, go right a bit and immediately go straight up. There should be a trainer there. After the battle, continue upwards and Surf across the water. Go up the Waterfall and around to the other side. Go down the Waterfall and continue surfing right, until you reach a platform with a ladder on it. Do not continue straight down or you'll end up in a dead end. The ladder should take you through to Room B again.
- In Room B go left but DO NOT GO OVER THE EDGE. Go downwards instead and negociate your way past the boulders and the rocks. Go through the next ladder into Room A again.
- In Room A, head straight upwards, along the bridge and down the steps. Now all you have to do is simply follow the path, with one trainer on it, until you can see the door.
Wally
It is when you are but a few steps from finishing Victory Road that
the aptly named Wally appears. He says he's been training hard, which is the
understatement of the year. His team now includes:
Altaria | Level 44 | Dragon/Flying | Magneton | Level 41 | Electric/Steel |
Roselia | Level 44 | Grass/Poison | Gardevoir | Level 45 | Psychic |
Delcatty | Level 43 | Normal |
You have to be prepared for this battle. Otherwise, like yours truly, your Pokemon will be nearly all fainted and you'll be cursing yourself for ever helping the git catch that Ralts in the first place. After you beat him, you can proceed to the Pokemon League. If you feel like taking on Wally again, he'll remain in Victory Road in the same place, constantly growing stronger. Wally will appear in your Trainer's Eye after you defeat him in Victory Road for a second time.
