This is my guide, so get your Explorer Kit out, and follow my instructions!
Pokémon DiamondIn Pokémon Diamond, you only can get the Skull Fossil in-game, and it is found by digging in the Underground.
Go digging, and chip into the walls until you find one of these fossils, and then take it to the Oreburgh Mining Museum.
Note, finding these fossils are down to pot luck, and there are no designtaed areas to find them.
Well, now it is revived, you will have a new Level 20 Cranidos in your party. Here is a lovely table explaining it and its evolution, Rampardos.

Well, that was Cranidos and Rampardos explained. Now onto the Pokémon Pearl in-game fossils.
Pokémon PearlIn Pokémon Pearl, you can only receive the Armour Fossil in-game, and like Diamond, it can only be found underground.
Once revived, you will have a Level 20 Shieldon in your party. Here's a table to describe Shieldon and it's evolution, Bastiodon.
