Right yeah. So you've once again crawled around Unova visiting every pub, trying every drink and inbetween you battled a few people who threw badges at you. Those badges are your life. They are your life and soul. Heck, you even refused that trade in The Red Arcanine for them - and you'd always wanted a Blue Peter Badge as well.
So your 8 badges have got you into the Unova League. Now what? Now you get to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT the Unova League, also known as the Elite 4. This page does contain kinda-major spoilers for the end of the game, so do only continue if you're sure you want to.
The league is different this time around in that you can take them on in whatever order you wish. We'll cover them in no particular order but really, you might as well pull names out of a hat. Assuming you have a hat.

Now, remember I told you there were MAJOR spoilers? At this point N will attempt to take over the Pokémon League and your League challenge will be over. Should you later choose to return to the Pokémon League not only have they all got plenty stronger, but there's a whole new Champion to tackle as well!

Which makes sence why they used those typings for the elite @Piplup princess: Yeah they sure are running out of ideas! Did you see the one that looks like a PokeBall, and its evolution is just upside-down and with a mouth added?!
Oh wait.
Anyway, I love the fact that the Champion uses Druddigon 83 @Piplup princess: The ice cream cone is Vanilluxe, a special powerhouse that should not be underestimated. Klinklang, the gear, is also a force to be reckoned with. Yeah unfortunately the most stupid and weird looking pokemon are the best and hard-to-train only some look cool and are good hydreigon is AWSOME but it takes wayyyyy too long
