AboutJust as in GSC, the legendary Mount Silver, on the border of Johto and Kanto, holds one trainer famous to all.
Some know him as Ash Ketchum, but to his in-game friends he's known as Red.
Red is actually the strongest trainer in any of the games, with his Pikachu the highest in-game opponent at a whopping Level 88. However, as a single battle, Ash... sorry, Red, is very much beatable.
In order to battle the most famous Pokémon trainer of all, you need to have earned all 16 Gym Badges throughout the game and armed with HM08 (Rock Climb - given to you by Professor Oak), launch a full assault on the previously inaccessible Mount Silver.

Oh, and for some reason, they've decided that every mountain has Hail at the top of it, so the battle against Red will take place in a Hailstorm. Knowing Nintendo, you'd have thought Ash would be bathed in a circle of sunlight, but oh well; you can't have everything I suppose.

I'd get my Blue the Snorlax to give him a giga impact off the mountain.
That will sort him out :) Doesn't matter, if his Pikachu is high level, I had a Marowak in the high lv.60s, one hit K.Oed it with an Earthquake on my Pokemon Crystal. Your real victory came because Red fell over in the Earthquake and had to quit the battle due to personal injuries. The game just had to show Pikachu fainting to declare you the winner. Red never loses. It looks fairly easy to beat you gust say LOOK THERES LUGIA/HO-OH!If HG say Lugia if SS say Ho-Oh,then when he lookes in amazement push him off the mountin. Red is better than Ash in so many ways. Just beat him a week ago. Yay me... "A circle of sunlight"!? *major lol-age* I powned ash with a lvl 70 espeon Can you catch pikachu with a master ball? Sadly, no. Wouldn't that be great, though?
A note: Try and defeat Snorlax without sending his HP into the red area first. Ash/Red likes to use a lot of Full Restores on it. Also, it likes to abuse Focus Blast, then Blizzard, in that order, so plan accordingly. Pikachus Volt Tackle is ridiculous lancewest1 how did you pown ash cause i need some help :( beat him! you actually can catch his pikachu with a master ball but only if you have action replay which i do! but i did not use it to defeat ash! Did they really have to play the credits after you beat Red? It's not like you defeated the Elite four. I dont have time to train all my pokemon up to level 88. i beat all 16 gyms with levels of 60. why does there have to be such a level difference? Milotic works pretty well against his team, just ice beam everyone exept charizard
Okay, I've just got to say this because Red is NOT Ash. They are based off of the same sprite, but Red is from the manga. He is at the top of Mt. Silver because he went up there to train.
In the manga, the elite 4 ambushed him and froze him in a block of ice, where only his uber chu escaped to get Yellow to help. OK, red is not Ash at all because Red is good enough to freakin' evolve his pokemon, but Ash is such a stupid priss, he is too stupid to EVOLVE HIS FREAKIN' POKEMON!........also, Red is in the player in the manga.
