Later, having taken Brock to a bed, Ash and Misty speculate about his condition. Suddenly, Brock gets up, keen to do some chores. Ash and Misty insist that he relaxes, offering to do the chores instead.
As the pair realise how much Brock usually does, Geodude and Onix are restless. They remember that today's the day Brock normally polishes his Rock Pokémon.
They polish the Pokémon, finding that it's a far more difficult task than they'd expected. Togepi finds instructions left by Brock. As Misty reads them, Ash is struck by an idea - he asks Totodile to use Water Gun on Onix. Misty panicks, reminding Ash that Rock Pokémon hate water. Onix flinches and lashes out with its tail.
Meanwhile, Brock dreams about a field of flowers, Bellossoms and beautiful girls. As he runs towards the girls, a meteorite flies through the air. He catches the meteorite, and suddenly wakes up to find Pineco in his hands. Pineco and Golbat have been keeping an eye on him. He hears Ash and Misty struggling outsides, and gets up to help them, but Golbat uses a Supersonic attack to keep him in bed.
Outside, Misty decides to tackle the laundry, while Ash goes to find fruit for lunch. He finds some apple trees, but none of them contain any apples.
Nearby, Team Rocket are using a mechanical device to suck up all the apples. They intend to make jam to sell. Ash arrives, asking for some fruit for Brock. Team Rocket take advantage of this by sucking up Pikachu. Ash sends out Bulbasaur and Chickorita, and Team Rocket respond by sending out Arbok and Victreebel. Totodile's Water Gun and Cyndaquil's Flamethrower make quick work of the team, freeing Pikachu; Pikachu finishes them off with a Thunderbolt attack.
Back in Brock's dream, the field is now full of Butterfree - and the same beautiful girls. As he runs towards them, he falls into a pit; suddenly, he wakes up, having fallen on the floor. Ash hands him a meal prepared from the apples, and they agree that Brock's getting better.
Later on, while Ash cuts firewood, Misty struggles to follow one of Brock's recipes. Eventually, she adds all the ingredients she can find. Ash refuses to try it, offending Misty in the process. She tries the meal to prove that it's not bad - and finds that it's revolting.
At night, Ash and Misty talk about how hard Brock works for them. Nearby, Team Rocket watch them, plotting to kidnap Pikachu. Jessie excitedly reveals that she's found something even better - a cauldron full of food! James and Meowth dig in, hating it. Jessie tries it and loves it. Moving on, James decides that they should try waking the other Pokémon up, and kidnap the lot.
Using a cardboard cut-out of Ash and a voice-changing loudspeaker, they attract Bulbasaur, Chickorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile into a net. Without thinking, Jessie and James begin reciting their motto, waking up Ash and Misty.
Brock's dream again, and now he's on a beach. Spotting the same beautiful girls again, he runs towards them, before being swept away by a wave. He wakes up, finding Golbat trying to get his attention.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket make their escape, and Ash and Misty fall into a pitfall. Attachments on their hot-air balloon snag Onix, Poliwhirl, Staryu and Geodude. Misty points out that Pikachu can't Thunderbolt the balloon without also hurting the Pokémon. Unable to pose a threat, Pikachu is nabbed by Meowth.
Suddenly, as they make their getaway, Golbat flies into the balloon, tearing it. The Pokémon are freed, and Brock arrives on the scene. Team Rocket send out Arbok and Weezing, which Brock handles with Golbat, Pineco and Onix's Rock Throw. Ash instructs Pikachu to finish them off. Misty tells Brock he saved the day, but Brock gives Pineco and Golbat the credit.
The next morning, when Ash and Misty wake up, Brock has breakfast ready for them. Brock agrees to take a nap before tackling more chores, and finally, he dives towards his dream girls, hoping he doesn't wake up.
