Now, our heroes go to sleep but Politoed is still awake. It walks over to a biscuit and the biscuit falls down the hill. Politoed chases after the biscuit then finds it - and a girl. Politoed starts clapping. But the girl isn't impressed. She gets angry at Politoed and calls it Bean (which is the name of her Politoed that had run away). She accuses it of taking off its red headband. She then takes it with her. She takes it to a building where a bunch of Bellossom, Sunflora, and Jumpluff are. She looks at Politoed and says that it's not Bean. Politoed claps and the other Pokémon clap with it. She absolutely loves it!

We now see the Ash crew putting their Pokémon back into their Pokéballs. Misty suddenly notices that Politoed is not with them. They start looking then they fall into a hole. They wonder why there's a hole there and Team Rocket comes and does their motto.

Bean then appears. It grabs them with its tongue. Then Team Rocket makes an offer: they'll let Politoed join Team Rocket. They say that they get all these holidays and great things, and that all Bean has to do is sign a form with small print on it.

But the Ash crew says that Team Rocket isn't all that. They say they never get that kind of stuff. Wobbuffet comes out of its Pokéball and agrees. Team Rocket is angry at Wobbuffet. Bean declines. Jessie returns Wobbuffet to its Pokéball. Then Ash commands Pikachu to use a Thunderbolt. Team Rocket blasts off. Then Misty looks at Politoed and says that it's cute but it's not her Politoed.

Meanwhile, Politoed and the Grass Pokémon are having a great time. Politoed is clapping and the other Pokémon are cheering. The Ash crew is watching. Misty knows what this is. The girl is a cheerleader.

Then they come up and tell her that she must have gotten the wrong Politoed. But then she says that Bean has been replaced, because Politoed is better. She also introduces herself as Tammi and will Misty please do her a favor and let her borrow Politoed. They clap and cheer some more. Then Tammi lets them have a break.

Ash and Pikachu run over to help Bean. He started being silly and making silly faces. This made Bean laugh. But then Ash started laughing and broke his cover. Then Bean ran away.

It's Totodile!

Tammi begs Misty because it's important to her to win the championship and make everyone happy. Then the group claps and cheers and then they form a pyramid. They're doing very well, then they topple. Tammi starts getting angry at them, scolding them, telling them that Politoed was kind enough to practice with them. The Pokémon feel very ashamed and sad. Misty and Brock tell her to stop and think about the Pokémon. She starts crying and Misty goes to Politoed and asks if it and the other Pokémon are okay. They are, Misty tells Tammi that she should think about the other Pokémon's feelings. She has a memory of when she was really happy with Bean and the other Pokémon and that makes her cry even harder.

But then they have no time to dwell on this because a giant Politoed robot is stomping its way toward her and her Pokémon. Team Rocket. It grabs them in its long tongue. It deposits them inside the "belly" of the machine, where they can do nothing but watch helplessly as Ash and Pikachu come running up to them, to have their hopes crushed: the duo fall into something pink and stinky. Team Rocket laughs and tells them that it's fly paper. They then take Pikachu with a claw.

But, of course, the whole of Team Rocket won't accept credit for their "fabulous" idea. They start arguing with each other and Wobbuffet comes out of its Pokéball.

Ash tells Pikachu to use Thunderbolt. But it doesn't work. That's because the machine is electricity-proof. Then Bean uses Water Gun on the machine and releases Tammi and the other Pokémon. But Team Rocket isn't giving up. Jessie sends out Arbok and Bean hits Arbok. Then while Arbok is stunned, Bean claps. Then Misty and Tammi tell their Politoeds to use double Water Gun and now Team Rocket's all wet. Wobbuffet comes out of its Pokéball. Team Rocket still thinks that electricity won't work, but since they're all wet, it will. Now Pikachu uses Thunderbolt. Team Rocket blasts off again.

Now it's time to say goodbye. Tammi tells Ash that she'll be cheering for him at the Johto League Championship, and Ash tells her that they'll be rooting for her and her squad too. Now the heroes continue on to Blackthorn.
