Address Unown |
Misty falls to the ground as everyone including Togepi goes over to the unown to inspect it. Ash looks it up in his pokédex while Misty regains consciousness. The purple cloud disappears and Ash picks it up and notices that it feels hot. Brock wonders if it’s sick and Misty somehow knows it is. She says that it is also upset about being separated from its friends and Brock asks how she knows. She says that she could somehow read Unown’s mind when she got hit and she also saw the world that they live in, although she has a hard time describing it.
AshCo have set up camp where they’ve given Unown its own personal bed. Night falls and Brock talks about a legend that states that unowns have the ability to communicate telepathically with people. Ash and Misty want to find Unown’s friends, but Brock says that’s virtually impossible, as nobody knows where they come from and some scientists even theorize that they come from a different dimension. Unown wakes up and Ash asks it if it’s okay and promises to find its friends. Misty tells him off for making promises can’t keep, but Ash tells Unown not to listen to her. At first Unown acts all cheery, but then falls back onto its little bed. Larvitar watches it with a concerned look on its face. AshCo think that Larvitar cares about Unown so much because it knows what it’s like to be separated from family.
JessieCo are spying on them from a nearby cliff. Some confusion occurs between Meowth and the two humans because of Unown’s name, but in the end they decide that it’s rare enough to steal and sell.
Larvitar wakes Ash up and AshCo see that Unown is better, as it does a midair dance. Misty congratulates Larvitar on nursing Unown back to health, but just scares it again. Prepare for trouble in slow-mo/ make that a double latte cup of Joe/ to protect the world from devastation/ to unite all peoples within our nation/ to denounce the evils of truth an love/ to extend our reach to the stars above/ Jessie/ James/ Team Rocket wakes up to blast off at the speed of light/ so surrender now, face the day, or prepare to fight and fight. JessieCo of course want Unown, but Larvitar defends it. Jessie and James prepare to battle, but before they can even send out a pokémon, Ash tells Larvitar to use hidden power and it does so. Wobbuffett uses counter and it looks like AshCo are toast, but then Unown’s body starts to glow. There is a huge explosion caused by Larvitar’s hidden power and JessieCo are blasted off. When the dust clears, AshCo are nowhere to be seen.
Ash wakes up on top of a giant, green floating eggshell in a yellow-green world. He calls out to his friends and Brock and Misty float over to him on their own eggshells. Pikachu, Togepi, Larvitar, and Unown are still nowhere to be seen. Brock wonders if Unown transported them to a different dimension to defend them, but Misty says that this world isn’t like the one she saw before. Suddenly a giant pikachu walks up to them. AshCo scream at first, but Pikachu talks to Ash and they realize that its just Ash’s pikachu. Suddenly a giant Togepi walks over to them, but AshCo are even more worried this time because Togepi doesn’t seem to be paying attention to where its going. Pikachu stops Togepi with its tail before it steps on them, however.
Ash and Brock are riding on Pikachu’s head and Misty is riding on Togepi’s head. They are walking through miniature (well, miniature compared to the pokémon) trees that are made of eggshells when suddenly the green surface that they’re walking on seems to turn to water.
Pikachu and Togepi seem to be lifted up by two giant Elekid antennae and the world turns orange-yellow with grey clouds. The Electabuzz baseball team’s fight song can be heard and several tops of Elekid’s head appear randomly around AshCo. Meanwhile AshCo keep commenting on how weird everything is.
The Elekid heads disappear and the world turns smoky red. Flames appear around AshCo. At first they panic, but then they realize that the fire isn’t hot at all. The fire then comes away from them and they are back in the original yellow-green world minus the eggshells. The fire forms sort of a round picture frame showing the world that they were just in with a magby inside of it.
Magby uses flamethrower on them and when it clears, there are several slowking-shellders floating randomly around. Ash notices that all of the worlds feature pokémon they’ve seen recently and Misty wonders if that’s what Unown based this dimension on. One of the shellders grows a slowking, which swallows them. Who’s that pokémon?! It’s Moltres!!
They’re back in the eggshell world where they started, but this time there’s a giant green egg in the middle. The egg has several holes in it where light is shining through and a black crystal stuck in one side. AshCo go over to the egg to check it out. Ash looks into one hole and sees himself. Brock and Misty look into some other holes to see themselves, but they’re in black in white instead of color like Ash is. Ash wonders why he’s in color. The black and white Misty tries to talk, but the “screen” freezes. Brock decides that this must be how Larvitar sees things. He also says that this dimension must be based on Larvitar’s mind, as the pokémon they’ve seen have all been pokémon Larvitar’s seen. He thinks that the reason they can’t find Larvitar or Unown is because they’ve merged minds. Ash wonders what the black crystal is and touches it. He gets sucked in and Misty, Brock, Togepi, and Pikachu grab onto him, getting sucked in as a result.
This world is bluish-white with a darker blue floor. Pikachu and Togepi are back to their normal size, but everyone’s relief is short-lived, as a giant mecha with several hands comes towards them. The hands turn into something like black crystal tree branches that surround AshCo. A voice is heard, saying, “so scared” over and over again. Three people in black and white tower over AshCo and Brock decides that they must be the poachers that attacked Larvitar. An angry-looking tyrannitar starts to roar and the voice says, “Mommy”. Tyrannitar is attacked with missiles. She’s badly injured and then everything disappears. Brock says that this must be why Larvitar is so timid and mistrusting. Then Ash notices Larvitar floating, but it appears to be cold and unconscious. Ash tries to go up to it, but several black crystal-branches block him and knock him to the ground. The branches form a mountain that ends in a cage around Larvitar. Ash tries once again to climb the mountain, but several branches shoot up, preventing him from going far. Brock says that the crystal on the outside of the egg represents the painful memories that prevent Larvitar from hatching completely. Suddenly, Larvitar starts to struggle to get out of the cage. Ash talks about all of the pain it has suffered an yells that he will help it get out. He tries to climb once again, but this time he’s prepared for the branches and manages to dodge them. Pikachu helps out, but before anyone can get to Larvitar, the cage solidifies completely around Larvitar. When it comes away, Larvitar is completely trapped in a block of ice. Ash starts to punch at the ice and begs Larvitar to remember the good times they’ve had together. Misty and Brock join in, but it isn’t until Pikachu starts to shock at the part where Ash is punching that Larvitar is able to break free. It falls into Ash’s arms and smiles. I’m on a master quest! Pokémon!
AshCo and Larvitar are back where they started, but then the black crystal in the egg disappears, as Larvitar now trusts humans. The whole egg starts to glow and everything fades white.
AshCo are now back at the campsite. Misty approaches Larvitar again, but this time it smiles at her and even shakes her hand. Ash thanks Unown for helping them and above them the purple cloud appears again, but this time it’s surrounding the world of the unown. Unown bids everyone farewell and goes back to its friends. AshCo continue on their way.
