The gang come across a city on their long journey towards Rustboro. They decided to split up, with May takes Brock shopping for supplies, whilst Ash and Max go to get a burger. Max wants to go and find some cool city pokemon.

Meanwhile, outside an old mansion, James and Meowth are arguing whilst cutting down some trees. James was very tempted to attack meowth with the chainsaw! Jessie finally breaks them up, and they agree that they are hungry will have to work for money. Wabb!!!

May and Brock are shopping, May keeps staring at the clothes shops, whilst Brock wants to concentrate on supplies. Ash and Max leave the burger shop and start looking for city pokemon. It's not long before they come across an alleyway and discover a Shroomish hiding between some boxes.

Meanwhile brock has baught a lot of supplies and May compliements him for being reliable and organised. Just then, they overhead a couple talking about a curse, so May butts in and asks what they're talking about, so they tell her about the mansion called the green lodge, and say that there's a bunch of workers tearing it down, along with the forest in its courtyard. The rumour is that the building is cursed, and people keep seeing footprints and some workers can't breathe when they go inside. May thinks the idea of a haunted mansion is awesome!

Back to Ash and Max in the alley, Max exclaims at how lucky they are to find a Shroomish, whilst Ash checks out Shroomish on the pokedex. The Shroomish doesn't look too happy so Max tries to give it some food, which it rejects and does a stun spore attack so they run away.

May is dragging brock towards the mansion, and Brock is acting, in May's words, "like a scared little girl" and Brock continues to whine.

Ash and Max return to the Shroomish and gets it to eat some of Brock's pokemon food, which is likes. Pikachu cheers! Max thinks it's strange that the Shroomish isn't living in a forest.

May runs into the mansion and Brock chases after. Then Ash and Max walk along and also notice the mansion. At this point Team Rocket see them too. Shroomish runs into the mansion, so Ash and Max follow it because they want see why it's so upset. Team Rocket as usual start plotting to capture Pikachu, because Jessie says it's more important that their part-time job. Jessie and James run off leaving Meowth to be squished by they log they were carrying.

May and Brock are now standing outside the enterance to the mansion, and spot the Shroomish running, and jumping inside through a window. They then see Ash and Max running towards them, persuing Shroomish. They are all back together now and are interrupted by a man and explain about the Shroomish. He says it's impossible because there haven't been any Shroomish in the town for ages. We then enter a flashback to the man as a child playing with the Shroomish at the mansion which then belonged to his grandfather. He explains that the forest disappeared over time due to the growth of the town and then all the Shroomish had gone. So he says the council decided to destroy the mansion to make room for new buildings, but strange thinks have been going on since. May gets excited by the rumours of ghosts. They all decide to go inside and investigate what's going on.

Who's that pokemon? It's Snubbull! Caption: "This pokemon looks serious, but acts kind and playful!"

The gang are now inside and searching for Shroomish. Brock whimpers at the idea of going further inside. They find Shroomish in the next room, cowering in a corner. Then a few more Shroomish appear so Pikachu decides to talk to them. The gang decide the Shroomish must be scared because their home is going to be torn down. The man then noctices a photograph of him as a child playing with the Shroomish (identical to the earlier flashback).

Just then there's an explosion followed by the motto "Prepare for trouble in a cloud of dust, make it double, there's no choice you must!" (followed by usual TR motto)

James sends out his Cacnea, which again chooses to hug him, so Jessie sends out her new Seviper. Cacnea and Seviper commence attack, and Ash commands Pikachu to use quick attack, but right at that moment, the Shroomish scream out loud and then a few seconds later a huge heard of Shroomish appear from everywhere. Jessie commands Seviper to use poison tail, then Cacnea does pin missile, which the Shroomish manage to dodgy. All of them then proceed to do stun spore which knocks out Team Rocket.

The gang manage to escape outside and decide that the Shroomish must have been the cause of all the strange happenings. Max says they must be in pain, because they want to play with the man and be happy again.

Team Rocket are now outside too, and decide it's payback time, and try to come up with a plan.

Max asks the man to stop the construction for the sake of the Shroomish, but he says it's too late to stop now.

Just then there's a rumble and a new machine of Team Rocket's appears infront of them. This machine is air tight, and so protects them against the stun spore. They drive into the wall of the mansion at which point all the Shroomish hop out of the window. Team Rocket use the grabbing arms to pick up all the Shroomish and put them in the machine's basket. Pikachu tried a thunderbolt but as usual Team Rocket have shock-protected their vehicle in preparation.

All the Shroomish use stun spore, which fills the air with a large cloud which heads towards the city. Brock sends out his Forettress to rapid-spin to blow the stun spore dust away from the city. Team Rocket are starting to run out of air inside the machine, so Meowth switches on the circulation system...big mistake! The stun spore gets inside the open window of course! The Shroomish then use leech seed on them, then May commands Torchic to use ember, then Pikachu finishes is off with a Thunder attack which finishes off Team Rockets "stunning experience" and sends them blasting off again.

The man explains that the mansion will have to be destroyed but he is going to plant a new forest for the Shroomish to live in so they can play together with him. Everything has turned out fine! The gang say goodbye and head off into the sunset, waving back to the Shroomish.

Comments: Quite an enjoyable 'filler' episode as usual! At the beginning I was really hoping that the town they saw would be Rustboro, but I was slightly disappointed that it was another made-up place. This disappointment was cured by the ending incident with Team Rocket, which was hilarious, as they were defeated by an open window, hehehe! Thanks for reading this epguide!
