Then an announcement is made through the loudspeakers and nurse Joy’s voice is heard and warns everybody of many Gulpin that are messing up the city and that this is a state of emergency. Ash and co quickly go into the streets and notice that the entire city is abandoned. They then hear a scream and decide to check it out and they find a woman with purple hair. They ask what’s wrong and she’s pointing out to some Gulpin who are eating all of her bread. Ash asks Pikachu to stop them and at the moment Pikachu wants to attack, all the Gulpin are throwing themselves on top of Pikachu. Ash pulls him out of there, but Pikachu is paralyzed. Then more Gulpin jump out of the ventilation system and they freak out as the store is filled with more Gulpin.

Then a whistle is heard and Brock already starts to fall in love with the fact that officer Jenny is nearby but the Gulpin jump on top of him. Then Jenny arrives along with her Tangela, which pulls everybody except the Gulpin out of the store with its vines. The Gulpin leave the store as Ash and co thank officer Jenny for her help. Jenny wonders why they didn’t leave the area like they were told through the loudspeakers but Max replies saying they didn’t know. They then decide to go to the pokemon center.

There nurse Joy is busy locating all the Gulpin as Brock starts to fall in love with nurse Joy once again as Max comments on his behaviour. Ash wonders where nurse Joy got these equipment and she tells them she hired a scientist named Shakuji to help the city to get rid of all the Gulpin. Then the scientist appears and wants to know where the Gulpin are now and Jenny checks it up. She shows them that they are messing up the grocerie stores and Jacuzzi tells them that they are soon going to near the pokemon center and that they most likely use the sewers to get here faster, which worries all of them.

Nurse Joy then remarks that they are nearing the center and Jenny sets of an alarm. They go to the bridge which they close with a truck. The Gulpin cross the bridge and the scientist fires a rocket in the air which falls apart and a large pokeblock dispenser lands on the bridge. May and co wonder what it is and he explains that no pokemon can resist pokeblocks. The gulpin also surround the dispenser and as soon as the Gulpin reach out for the pokeblocks, the scientist pushes a button and it starts to fly. The dispenser starts to fly off and all the Gulpin follow. Brock can’t believe it worked as Jacuszzi laughs.

Then suddenly a red hand grabs the dispenser and it appears to be Team Rocket and of course they do their motto. Ash and co tell them to give back the dispenser but of course they don’t do that. Then the Gulpin release a sludge bomb attack and the balloon falls down on the bridge and explodes. Team Rocket is furious but soon the Gulpin start to glow purple and the scientist is amazed by this. He remarks that they are doing stockpile and that it’s always followed by a spit up attack. At that moment, they spit up and Team Rocket is under attack and they blast off once again!

The dispenser is also thrown in the air and Brock tries to catch it and succeeds. Jacuzzi thanks Brock but then Max notices the Gulpin are coming again. Quickly Jenny throws out three pokeballs which reveal Meganium, Tangela and Parasect. Jenny orders them to use vinewhip, razor leaf and stun spore. So Tangela releases its vines and strikes the Gulpin, Meganium fires its leafs and Parasect stuns them. Ash sends out his Treecko as the Gulpin fire their sludge bomb attack. Treecko quickly evades the bombs and Treecko releases his bullet seed attack. The scientist then quickly pushes a button and the dispenser is fired out of Brock’s arms and flies over the bridge and continues above water. The Gulpin quickly jump off the bridge and follow the dispenser.

In the meanwhile Team Rocket is walking and walking until Wobbuffet notices the Gulpin walking away and the empty dispenser. They’re happy to see the Gulpin and decide to follow them.

The alarm goes off again as in the entire city the lights goes out and the entire is covered in darkness. Except in the pokemon center the light go on and they search for the Gulpin. They notice that the Gulpin are in the sewers and in the sewers, Team Rocket narrowly follows the group of Gulpin. Joy closes two doors in the sewers but knows it won’t take long before they reach the center. The scientists comments that they’ll never stop searching for food and decides it’s time to stop them. Ash and co decide to help and they go off.

In the meantime Gulpin jump out of the sewers and enter the streets. They head for the pokemon center but Ash and co are there to stop them. Jenny throws out her three pokeballs again, revealing Meganium, Tangela and Parasect once again. Tangela does its vinewhip, Meganium fires its leafs and Parasect releases its stunspore once again. Ash tells Pikachu to shock them and so everybody does but the Gulpin still keep coming. Even after another line of attacks which hit a lot of Gulpin, but even more Gulpin seem to come and head for the pokemon center. Then the scientist arrives with his truck and stops in front of the Gulpin. He pulls a trigger and two satellite dishes appear and a large canon appears out of the roof. Out of the sattelise dishes, two rays are fired at the Gulpin who disappear and then get fired out of the canon and out of the city, much to Ash and co’s surprise.

After a while only one Gulpin remains, but then the truck is shut down and nothing works anymore. Gulpin goes for a run but Ash sends out Treecko to stop it. Treecko releases his bulletseed which collides with Gulpin’s sludge bomb. In the meanwhile, the scientist tries to get the manage working again and he succeeds. Treecko then pounds Gulpin but before it can, the ray hits Gulpin and Treecko and they disappear. Gulpin then fires his stockpile and spit up attack which hits Treecko and makes the machine explode as Ash demands Treecko back. Jacuzzi tries to put the machine back on again but instead the machine explodes. Jenny asks if everybody is okay and they say they are. The scientist then notices two purple light bulbs in the air and it transforms into two large pokemon: Treecko and Gulpin.

Everybody is in shock as Brock wonders what happened. The scientist explains that the spit up might have reversed its effect. The large Gulpin then starts to move and destroys all the buildings, Ash runs up to the giant Treecko and tells it to stop Gulpin and so it jumps in the air and lands in front of Gulpin. In the meantime all the citizens escape as Treecko stops Gulpin. Treecko smashes Gulpin against a nearby building where Gulpin fires some sludge bombs which causes explosions in the entire city. Treecko is also thrown against a building and Ash is nearly hit by some rocks. Ash then notices the river and tells Treecko through a megaphone to throw Gulpin in the river and so Treecko does. As Gulpin floats through the air it starts to stockpile as Team Rocket happily flees with their stolen pokemon center food. Gulpin then spits up and accidently hits Team Rocket who drop the food and blast off once again!

Gulpin lands in the water and Treecko jumps in too. Gulpin tackles Treecko which hits the wall and the alarm goes off. Gulpin then starts to stockpile again and spits out, aiming right at Treecko who jumps out of the way right in time. Then Treecko starts to glow and a purple beam lands near Ash and co and it seems like Treecko became its normal size again. Ash and Joy see if it’s okay and Ash quickly returns it to its pokeball. Gulpin on the other hand is still big and marges into town. Ash wants to send out another one of his pokemon which gives May an idea to catch the pokemon since it is still a normal pokemon. The scientist throws a ball at the Gulpin but it immediately pops out of it. Joy then hands him a heavy ball and he becomes more confident. He throws the pokeball and after waiting for a while, the ball stops shaking and the scientist caught Gulpin, which makes May and Max very happy.

They then wonder if Gulpin is still big so the scientist lets it out of its pokeball and it’s still big which shocks everybody. Quickly Gulpin is recalled to its pokeball and Ash wonders what will happen now. The scientist explains that he’ll see if Gulpin returns to its normal size after a while or if he should find a way to return Gulpin back to its normal size. With that, the episode ends as the group watches the sun rise.
