To get into spirit, Ash sends out all of his Poke'mon, only to realise that all of his Poke'mon (other than Pikachu), haven’t met his newly evolved Grovyle. Corphish becomes slightly jealous and just at the same moment, all of Ash’s other Poke'mon congratulate Grovyle.

Vigoroth suddenly springs to Ash’s mind. Ash first asks Max about a good strategy to defeat his dad, but Max is struck for words as he wouldn’t want to tell Ash how to beat his dad!

Tailow soon swoopes past, sending some fruit down to Ash and co. Ash thanks it and gets up, running to get more. Corphish wants to help an grabs two fruits, nut its strong hands squash them! Next Pikachu tries but has trouble getting up the tree. Corphish tries again and tries knocking them down with bubblebeam, but it just blasts the fruits to pieces. Finnaly, Corphish tries knocking them down by hitting the tree. Grovyle uses razor leaf and the fruits fall down. Everyone thanks Grovyle.

Suddenly, down falls a net. Pikachu and Corphish are stuck in the net. Team Rocket grab the net and Pikachu tries to use thundershock, but the net is electric proof and Corphish can’t brake it either. Ash tells Grovyle to use leaf blade, bullet seed and a final leaf blade, that frees Corphish and Pikachu, and sends Team Rocket blasting off again!

All except Corphish praises. Grovyle May suggest that it may be jealous. Brock doesn’t agree, but thinks that Ash would prefer Grovyle because it is at a higher stage. Ash and co get ready for a meal, but then they hear bongo drums, and see a Ludicolo in the distance. As they get closer to the Ludicolo, Ash checks his Poke'dex. They then notice that the drums are coming from a man, not Ludicolo; the man introduces himself as Pancho. Pancho owns the Ludicolo. Brock releases his Lombre and it meets Ludicolo. They get on fine. Pancho next notices Ash’s sandwiches, being hungry, Pancho asks if anybody would like to battle him, with the sandwiches as the prize. Ash agrees.

Grovyle wants to battle and steps forward, although Corphish also wants to battle and Ash chooses it.

Corphish starts with vicegrip, but Ludicolo dodges it. Corphish uses bubblebeam next, but Ludicolo uses protect, which absorbs the bubbles. Crabhammer is also dodged by double team! Ash thinks hard, and Corphish uses another Crabhammer, but it misses anD Ludicolo uses a Focus Punch and it hits Corphish hard! Corphish tries the same thing, Vicegrip, bubblebeam and Crabhammer, while Ludicolo knocks it out with a Hyper Beam!

Pancho grabs the sandwiches and walks off with Ludicolo. Ash is unhappy abou losing and Corphish is very angry and unconscious. With no more sandwiches, Ash and co are starving. Brock offers to make more sandwiches, which Ash, May and Max easily agree to. Corphish gains consciousness and walks into the bushes. Ash sends Tailow to look for it, while realising that Tailow is probably even angrier.

Pancho and Ludicolo are eating the sandwiches, but just then Corphish turns up next to them. After offering it a sandwich, Pancho realises that it wishes to battle.

Team Rocket are currently spying on Ludicolo and Corphish. They are impressed by its’ strength and dancing skills. Team Rocket want to steal Ludicolo and give it to the boss for entertainment.

Just the smoke surrounds Pancho and Ludicolo and it scares them. They fall of the cliff and land in a net, which carries them up to Team Rockets balloon. Corphish tries to free them with a bubblebeam, but nothing happens. Corphish then tries climbing up to a branch, but it cant reach so then it tries jumping at the balloon and puncturing it with it’s claw. Corphish and the net are taken with the balloon, as they and Team Rocket go blasting off again.

Team Rocket, Corphish, Pancho, Ludicolo and Team Rocket land near Ash and co. Pancho, Ludicolo and Corphish brake free. Team Rocket wont give up without a fight so taking Brock’s advice, Ash lets Corphish battle. James sends out Cacnea and Jesse sends out Seviper. Corphish uses bubblebeam and Seviper tries to attack with bite and Cacnea with needle arm, Corphish stops them with vicegrip. Cacnea tries pin missle next, but Corphish uses Harden to protect itself. Corphish attacks with Crabhammer and just then, it uses a strong bubblebeam to send them blasting off again.

Pancho aggress to share the food he won and Corphish is at the centre of attention again! Corphish approaches Grovyle and they shake hands, best friends again!

Ash finally wants to battle Ludicolo again, but not with Corphish, he chooses Torkoal. Torkoal starts with a flamethrower, which is easily dodged by Ludicolo. Ludicolo next uses Focus Punch, but Torkoal blocks it with an Iron defence. Ludicolo uses the trick of Double team, but Torkoal sends a flamethrower all over the place, and finally hits the real Ludicolo.

As the battle continues, Ash’s thoughts are on his next Gym battle at Petalburg Gym, and also, that Vigoroth!
