The Legend Of Thunder (Part 1) |
The episode starts with Jimmy and an unknown boy just about to battle. The unknown boy releases his Hitmonlee and Jimmy releases Typhlosion. Jimmy kindly lets the boy attack first. He does so with a Jump Kick. Typhlosion grabs Hitmonlees leg before it could hit. The Hitmonlee then counters with a Rolling Kick and hits Typhlosion in the face; he then lets go of Hitmonlees leg but is still standing. The kid seems amazed that Typhlosion is still standing and commands his Hitmonlee to finish him of with a Mega Kick. But Jimmy tells Typhlosion to use a Flamethrower, which fries Hitmonlee and stops him in his track. Jimmy walks over to the trainer and asks if his Hitmonlee is ok. The boy congratulates Jimmy on his victory and they shake hands like true trainers.
We are now shown a brown helicopter with, guess what? Yep, a big, fat, red R on the side, landing in a rocky area, only to be lowered into the ground. Two Rocket members step out. They are greeted by a professor who asks the women (Or man, Im unsure) who her new assistant is. Hun introduces her partner, Atilla. They are taken to a large laboratory where an experiment is about to take place; they glance through a glass panel into a large dome with a purple crystal standing in the centre of it. The professor explains that the crystal generates a field of which electricity cannot penetrate. Furthermore, it attracts any electrical discharges, such as an electric pokemons electric attack therefore rendering an electric type pokemon, utterly useless; it even attracts electric type pokemon.
The professor then gives the word to start the experiment. Several generators appear around the room, suddenly each one gives off a bolt of electricity directed at the floor but before it can touch the floor it goes flying towards the crystal and is absorbed. Atilla and Hun stare at it astonished. After absorbing the electricity a purple shield is sent out from the crystal. More generators rise from the floor, inside the shield. The crystal starts to attract electricity from them and becomes so powerful that the generators explode into tiny pieces. Atilla and Hun stare dumbstruck at the crystal that will make them the most powerful trainers in the world.
Jimmy reaches the Pokemon centre and gives Nurse Joy his pokemon, she hands them back to him and tells him to make sure he rests because the next centre is a while away. He goes and sits down and brushes Typhlosion. He tells him that he done well and hes not only getting stronger but smarter too. Typhlosion replies with a small cry of glee.
He stops brushing Typhlosion because he overhears a loud conversation going on between a girl with a Misdreavus and someone on the other end of a phone. The person on the other end of the phone is Vincent, one of the three trainers who received their first pokemon from Professor Elm, and he is talking to Marina, the second trainer of the trio, Jimmy being the third.
Marina sees Jimmy And greets him happily then turns back to Vincent telling him that shes got to go. Vincent quickly asks to speak to Jimmy before she hangs up, she accepts and lets Jimmy talk to him. He asks Jimmy to come on in close so that no one else can hear them. He then tells Jimmy that Marina is his girlfriend, or will be soon and that Jimmy should stay away from her because he knows he fancies her. He blushes and denies it immediately and hangs up without letting Vincent finish.
Marina and Jimmy are next seen sitting next to each other. Marina asks Jimmy if she missed him while obviously flirting, Jimmy just casually says no. She then asked if he notices how shes changed, Jimmy says not really. Marina now smirks and blushes then says that she thinks Jimmy is too shy to show his true feelings and that he thinks she cute. Jimmy jumps up and denies it rapidly, and then Typhlosion is seen smirking and laughing, obviously knowing that Jimmy likes her. Jimmy quickly asks to change the subject. Marina decides on the subject of training and Jimmy brightens up a bit. She asks him what he wants to be, Jimmy says he wants to become a great trainer. At the mention of a great trainer, Marina starts to babble on about one day battling with Lance. Jimmy asks if she means that dragon trainer. Marina confirms Jimmys question and starts to call him Fabu-Lance. Jimmy is unimpressed and mumbles something about her being obsessed. Marina then shoves her notebook, which is pasted with pictures of Lance and some of his pokemon, under Jimmys nose. Eventually Marina gets onto the subject of her battles and how she tries to create them into a magnificent show. Jimmy says that its a stupid idea, so Marina challenges him. He instantly jumps up and accepts.
They are then seen, outside in a clearing in a small wood. The battle starts with Marina releasing her Little Pink (Jigglypuff) and performing a little twirl. Jimmy is obviously not impressed and thinks she need to take it more seriously. He sends out Beedrill. Marina recognises it as That cute little fuzz ball or Weedle as you and I know it as. Jimmy unnecessarily explains that it is now a Beedrill.
The battle begins with Jigglypuff using Sing. Jimmy tells Beedrill to use Agility; it dashes around the confused Jigglypuff. Marina asks why Jigglypuffs Singing didnt put Beedrill to sleep and Jimmy explains that its wings beat so fast that it erases all sound before it reaches its eardrums, Jimmy then continues the battle with a Twineedle which Jigglypuff avoids by inflating and floating into the air. Beedrill tries hitting it in mid air with no success so Jimmy tells it to use Pin Missle. It hits it in the face and it flys away, rather like the Team Rocket balloon. Marina recalls Jigglypuff and sends out Wani-Wani (Croconaw) with another little dance from them both. Jimmy recalls Beedrill and releases Typhlosion. Marina explains that with the type advantage she will win. She tries to prove that with a Water Gun to the face of Typhlosion but it just seems to shake it off. Jimmy then orders a Quick Attack, Typhlosion gets right up to Croconaws face when thunder strikes a tree in the background. Jimmy runs over to see if everyone is ok, meanwhile Marinas Little Miss (Misdreavus) looks suspiciously towards the place where the thunder hit. Jimmy tells them that they should get back to the pokemon centre but before anybody could say anything, Misdreavus, Typhlosion and Croconaw run towards where the thunder struck. They manage to recall Typlosion and Croconaw but Misdreavus runs to far into the woods and they chase after it.
We know see the Crystal, which is set up in front of a giant machine, which Atilla is operating. He is looking at a radar with several small dots on scattered around it. Electric pokemon start to appear from all directions. Atilla now releases two mechanical arms, which start to pick up all the pokemon around. One unfortunate Raichu tries the strike the machine with a thunderbolt but before it can hit, the crystal attracts and absorbs it before sending it out and hitting all the pokemon with the same attack. A dark large vortex shaped cloud appears over a mountain peak and collides with the purple thunderclouds that created the lighting that nearly hit Jimmy and Marina. This is when they arrive. Misdreavus just floats in one place and stares at the machine, Marina grabs her quickly before she can run (or float) off.
A new, larger dot appeared on Huns display. Hun says that it has to be it. And Atillas comments with a simpler It has come. A thunderbolt descends from the vortex clouds and hits a rather tall rock, when it fades away, Raikou can be seen standing there. Jimmy pulls out his Pokedex to identify it. The (rather good and better than Ashs pokedex) picture appears and it reads out: Raikou, the Thunder Pokemon, said to be a Legendary Pokemon, details are unknown.
Raikou roars and charges pass the machine, ripping the bag where the electric pokemon where being stored. It then jumps at the machine biting through the arm holding one of the pokemon. It growls and the freed pokemon run off into the forest. Atilla and Hun dont seem fazed by Raikous appearance and attack; they merely send more mechanical arms towards it. It avoids it by jumping up in the air and releases an impressive Thunder attack but like the Raichus attack it gets absorbed into the crystal. Its attention is now focused on the crystal. It sends a Thunderbolt but again with no avail. This is exactly what Atilla and Hun want. Raikou launches a third attack but this time is struck by all of the Crystals stored power. Jimmy and Marina just stand horrified as the process is repeated over and over again until Raikou collapses. Hun now tells Atilla to catch it. He is about to o so when Jimmy interrupts them with a Stop! Let Raikou go!
They refuse and Jimmy sends out Typhlosion while Atilla and Hun send out their Skarmory and Steelix. The episode ends with the three trainers about to battle over Raikou, The Legend of Thunder.
