Ash and his friends run to try and catch the last ferry off of Cinnabar Island. Ash shouts for them to wait. Suddenly, a runs from behind a rock and Ash runs right into it. They both fall. It panics and starts talking (in its own language of course) to Pikachu. Ash asks what it's saying. Pikachu lets Squirtle out of its Pokeball. The Wartortle tells something to Squirtle. Ash asks again what Wartortle said. Squirtle nods, pulls out its Squirtle Squad sunglasses and puts them on. Then it and the Wartortle dive into the ocean and start swimming away very quickly. Brock says that there must be trouble.

They get into a boat, being pulled by Staryu, Starmie and Goldeen, and follow the turtles. Misty is holding Horsea. Brock sees an island that's not on the map. Ash sees that the island kind of looks like a Squirtle shell. Behind them, a periscope sticks out from the water. Under, we see Team Rocket's Mecha Gyarados sub! James and Meowth are peddling to move the sub, while Jessie watches Ash and the others through the periscope. James and Meowth get mad, and tell Jessie to help peddle.

Squirtle and Wartortle run right onto the beach and the others follow. There are dozens of Squirtle and Wartortle shells lying on the sand. Brock listens to one and hears snoring. They're okay, they're just asleep. Farther back, on a large rock, is a huge Blastoise shell. Ash says he has to get close to it, he's always wanted to see a Blastoise. Ash runs over and hugs the shell, saying how he's always wanted to meet the Blastoise. He listens, hearing a strange, familair sound, and he falls asleep. Squirlte jumps up, also listens, and falls asleep.

Brock and Misty try to wake up Ash and Squirtle. Misty wonders why they fell asleep. Brock says it must have something to do with the Blastoise. Misty tells Pikachu to shock them awake. It does and also wakes up all the Squirtle and Wartortle. Ash yells at Pikachu to stop. Brock tells Ash that he and Squirtle were asleep. Ash says that he heard a weird sound. Misty asks what kind of sound. He says it was like music, and it sounded familiar! He also says that they aren't leaving until they wake Blastoise. The Squirtle and Wartortle say they'll help.

Team Rocket watches from the top of the Gyarados sub on the surface of the water. Jessie says it's a Blastoise Bonanza! Meowth says that for Pokémon thieves, this is fantasy island. Back on the island, Brock holds up some pictures and asks if he's got the story right. He holds up one of a way too cutely drawn Blastoise and some Squirtles and Wartortles and says that this is the kingdom of turtle Pokémon and Blastoise is the Turtle Pokémon King. They nod. One day Blastoise went for a swim, but it never swam back. They found it floating in the ocean and dragged it back, but they all fell asleep. One Wartortle saw, swam to the mainland to find help and ran into Ash. They nod.

Misty says the island must be the turtle Pokémon breeding ground that people have been searching for for years. Brock says that he could learn lots about Pokémon breeding. Later, we see Brock in a doctor's uniform, holding a stethoscope. He says its time for Blastoise's first physical. He listens, but doesn't hear anything. Just then, Blastoise starts to wake up. It stands up with Ash on its back. All the Squirtle and Wartortle cheer. Squirtle says something, then Blastoise says something. Ash asks what. The cannons come out on Blastoises back, but there seems to be a problem. A weird, pink puffy thing is sticking out of of the cannons. Squirtle jumps up and pokes it. It twitches. A cat-like ear pops out. Misty says it can't be. Brock says it's not. Misty says to keep it away. Squirtle pokes it again, and a weird, familair sound is heard. Brock exclaims, it's Jigglypuff! Everyone falls asleep.

Team Rocket is back on the sub and they say their motto. Jessie says that Blastoise is asleep again. James says that catching it will be a breeze. Who's going to be the hero? Meowth volunteers, then immediatly regrets it. He goes onto the island, a rope tied around his waist. Jessie and James says not to be afraid, they're right behind him! Way behind him. Meowth sees Jigglypuff sticking out of Blastoise's water cannons and hears muffled singing from it. Meowth wonders what the sound is, then falls asleep. Jessie and James reel him back in. They slap Meowth, trying to wake him up, but he's out cold. Jessie says that they'll use the Gyarados Grabber to get Blastoise. A big suction pad shoots out of the Mecha Gyarados mouth, and hits Blastoise, then it drags it back into the Gyarados mouth. Meowth meanwhile wakes up.

Ash wakes up and sees Blastoise missing! Misty, Brock, Pikachu and Togepi wake up too. The Squirtle and Wartortle also wake and panic when they see Blastoise missing. Ash, Brock and Misty try to make then calm down, but they won't. Ash's Squirtle stops them by using Water Gun on all of them! It gets up on the big rock and start talking. They all listen. They all start cheering and pumping their arms in the air. Misty says that Squirtle is a good leader. Ash says it's because its trainer is good. Brock says that maybe the others are impressed by its sunglasses.

Pikachu shows everyone the trail that was left when Blastoise was dragged away. Brock says it must have been kidnapped. All the Squirtle and the Wartortle dive in the water to try and find Blastoise. Ash says that they can do it.

In the sub Team Rocket is drinking something while peddling the sub. Meowth says that now they can swipe all the Pokémon they want. Jessie and James say that the Boss will give them promotions. Jessie suddenly wonders who's going to get credit for catching Blastoise. She says she should, because she pushed the button for the Gyarados grabber. James say that he should get the credit! Meowth says that he should and Jessie and James both hit Meowth into the side of the sub, saying that Pokémon are not for Pokémon! The sub must not be built very well, because water starts leaking in and Jigglypuff starts singing from in Blastoise's water cannon. Team Rocket falls asleep and the sub starts sinking. Luckily the Squirtle and Wartortle take it back to the island.

Ash and the others manage to wake Team Rocket up. Ash asks if they're okay. Team Rocket says it must be a trick. Misty says Team Rocket should thank them, they saved their lives. James says that he's thankful, but Jessie hits him, saying that they're their mortal enemies. Ash says he feels sorry for that guy. Blastoise is back on the rock. Team Rocket sees that the Squirtle and Wartortle are about to attack and run to the Mecha Gyarados. Meowth presses a button and the Mecha Gyarados turns into a tank. Arms with grabbing claws come out the sides.

The Squirtle and Wartortle attack with Water Gun, but it doesn't stop the Gyarados tank. One of the hands hits Ash's Squirtle, sends it flying and Ash sees if its okay. The tank starts chasing the other Squirtle and Wartortle. Brock says they have to save them. Ash says that they need to wake Blastoise. He tells Pikachu and Squirtle to wake it. Squirtle uses Water Gun on Blastoise and the water carries Pikachus electricity over to it. Jigglypuff shoots out of the cannon, and goes right into the mouth of the Gyarados tank. Blastoise wakes up, and stops the tank right in its tracks. Its starts pushing the tank back. Brock says Blastoise is the bomb. Jessie says to try and grab Blastoise, but it breaks the grabber arms.

All the Squirtle and Wartortle use their Water Guns on the tank and Blastoise uses its water canons on it, sending it flying out into the ocean. Ash says that Jigglypuff is still inside. In the sub, Jigglypuff bounces into where Team Rocket is and immediatly starts singing, putting them to sleep. The Gyarados stops in air, falls into the water, and sinks! Ash's Squirtle dives under to try and save Jigglypuff. There's a huge explosion where the sub sank. Everyone gasps. They wait. Then Squirtle comes back up, a dizzy Jigglypuff on its back. They come to land. Jigglypuff gets ready to sing. Ash shouts no, but it sings, and everyone falls asleep. Jigglypuff pulls out its Marker of Doom and scribbles all over their faces and the shells of the turtles.

Everyone wakes up. Misty says that she hates it when that happens, she feels like a cartoon character. Ash says, like that could ever happen! They leave the island and wave goodbye. Out in the ocean, Team Rocket says that they're sick of losing. Looks like Team Rocket is drifting off again.
