As this episode begins, Ash has finally started training! His Pikachu is fighting Brocks Vulpix. Ash tells Pikachu to use his electric shock, and Brock tells Vulpix to use Flamethrower. They start powering up their attacks, but then, Jigglypuff jumps between them! Ash and Brock tell their Pokémon to aim their attacks somewhere else! They do, hitting a nearby rock face. In the forest, a group of people in a camp hear the noise. Back with Ash and co, Vulpix and Pikachu have revealed the entrance to a hidden temple! Brock finds an odd looking gold colored relic, shaped like two round arrows, connected with a slot in the middle. Ash wonders what it is, then, someone takes it!

A girl with blue hair from the camp looks at it with a magnifying glass. She speaks with a French accent. An older guys comes over, and she calls him Proffesor, and to take a look at what she found! He says thats great, Eve! Brock protests that he found it! The Prof. guy congralates her, and says that this proves her hypothesis correct. She says they should move the camp there, she sees that they already have. Ash and the others keep saying that they found the weird thing! Eve asks if she can help them, and they fall over.

Team Rocket sees. Jessie says there must be lots of valuable stuff in the temple! James says their must be a veritable vault of valuables! So, they come up with a plan to get them.

The people are all digging aroung the temple. Ash, Brock, Misty, Eve, and the Prof. are in a tent, looking at the stuff that has been found. Ash is looking at a gold statue of a Psyduck. Misty says that the people of Pokémopolis built temples to honor the Pokémon. Brock says that if they honored Psyduck, they werent missing, they were lost. Misty says something about Pokémopolis being destroyed. Brock says that they believed Pokémon were symbols of natures power. Eve says that the relics they found are the first proof of Pokémon in early times, or something like that. They have also found an odd golden spoon.

Eve says something about the two powers of destruction. The Prof. calls her Dr. and Misty says shes too young to be a doctor. The Prof. says that when Eve was six, she was an expert on ancient Pokémon civilizations! She got her PHD when she was eight! And she wrote best selling book when she was nine. Eve says thats enough about her, and shoves the Prof. out of the tent. Misty says that when she was eight, she was still afraid of doctors! Eve says its no big deal, and waves the spoon around. The other weird thingy starts glowing...

Eve holds up a tablet with strange writing on it. It reads something about the two destructive powers, and the Shadow of the Dark Device, and stuff about the day being swallowed up by the night. And that no human knows how to soothe the destructive powers. She says its a tough mystery to solve. Brock says they should all go dig to help her solve the mystery! Eve says that he certaintly does love mystery! Misty says he loves something! =)

Meowth says that he wishes he could have lived when people worshipped Pokémon. He steps on Jessie and James heads, and says to bow before him! The both kick him. Later that night, everyone is asleep. The spoon and weird thing are in glass cases. The weird thingy glows, and the spoon starts shaking. Jessie and James sneak into the camp, saying their motto. Jessie says the big stuff must be in the temple! And she knows just how to get it! She sends Arbok, and tells it to dig into the temple and bring back the most valuable thing it can find.

Jessie asks James what hell do with his money. He says that hell probably pay the Boss the money he owes him. Jessie yells at him, saying that he wouldnt have to do the right thing! James says that if he has enough money, he could became the Boss! Meowth says its a shame theyre so power hungry. Thenm Arbok comes back, something in its mouth. James asks if it could have found something more glitzy! Jessie asks if that was the most valuable it could find. The thing in its mouth is a small black ball, with two larger ones attached to either side. It suddenly glows red! Arbok is turned into red nergym and sucked into the ball!

Back at the tent, the spoon and weird thingy are glowing and stuff. Back with Team Rocket, the black thingy is floating towards them, and large footsteps are being left in the ground by some invisible creature. The thing glows, and Team Rocket is frozen! It comes closer, and everything goes black.

The next day, everyone has gathered to see the weird footsteps. The Prof. sees the black ball thngy, and say it must be the Dark Device! He picks it up, and is sucked inside! The thing floats in the air, and Ash sees Team Rockets faces flash by inside! Eve says to run! They do, but the Dark Device gets some of the workers. Everyone runs into the trailer. But they stop when they see everythign in the room, including the cases holding the spoon and the weird thing, floating! Outside, something big emerges from the Dark Device.

Jessie, James, Meowth, and the others are trapped inside the Dark Device. Jessie asks where they are, and the Prof. tells them. James says hed rather be in Miami Beach! Outside, the energy from the Dark Device has turned into a gigantic Gengar covered with strange markings! Brock says that its giant! Ash says its too big to be a Gengar! The last one he saw wasn;t even as big as he was! And it didnt have those weird markings. Eve remembers something from the tablet, the Shadow of the Darkness!

The Gengar starts growing larger, and dark storm clouds fill the air above it. At Prof. Oaks Pokémon preserve, he sees, and says there must be a storm brewing. The Genger walks through the forest, and Ash, Brock, Misty and Eve follow. Misty says it must be heading to the nearest town to wreck it! Ash says his hometown is the nearest town, and he has to stop it! Eve says he;d never be able to, and Ash says he has to try something! Brock says he;ll stay there, and tells Eve to go back and try to figure out this mystery! Back at the place, the weird thing is still glowing.

Gengar is still heading through the forest, and walks through some power lines. Brock sends Onix, and tells it to dig underground, and try to block the Gengar! Ash sends Pidgeotto, and has it use Gust on Gengar. Gengars eyes glow red, and Pidgeotto is pulled into the Dark Device! Pidgeotoo lands on Meowth in the device, and Jessie yells at it for not battling better!

Brock has Onix use Bind, and Pnix wraps around the Gengars legs and squeezes. But it is absorbed right into it! Pnix is also transported into the Dark Device, which is now really crowded. =) (Where did Arbok go?) Misty says theres no stopping it! Ash says they have to! The Genger has spotted them, though. They run back to the trailer. The weird thing is glowing, and when they get inside, they see Eve floating among the other stuff, under a spell of some sort. The spoon is floating between her hands. Then, the glass case holding the weird thing shatters! It floats over to the spoon, and the spoon inserts into the slot on the side. There is a huge blast of light, and the thing floats outside. Brock asks Eve if shes okay, and she says she doesnt remember what happened.

Something starts appeared from the spoon and weird thing. Its a gigantic Alakazam, also covered with weird markings. It attacks the Gengar, firing black crecent shaped energy, which miss it, and when they hit the ground, odd-looking rocks covered with red swirls appear. (So, if an Alakazam attacks you, you turn into a rock? Or is that a sea sponge?) Misty also wonders what they are. The Gengar uses Lick on Alakazam, but Alakazam Teleports. Alakazam fires pyschic energy from its two spoons, hitting Gengar. Gengar fires black energy from its hands, which the Alakazam blocks with its spoons. (Si thats what theyre for!) The both fire, and the energies swirl around each other.

Eve remembers something the tablet said about the city being no more, and something laying waste to the world. She says that these two creatures destroyed Pokémopolis, and now theyre going to destroy them! She says its all her fault for trying to figure out the mystery. Brock says it isn;t, archeologists are supposed to study ancient cultures. Ash says its the ancient Pokémopolitans faults for making that tablet so har to understand. (Hes an idiot).

The two giant Pokémon step into some water, and start pushing against each other. Ash has meanwhile gotten out two Poké Balls. Misty says that he cant possibly catch them! He says that they may be ancient and super powerful, but its worth a try. He throws the Poké Balls. The two powers of destruction pause, and look at the Poké Balls, which explode! Brock says that hed love to save Ashs hometown too, but these guys are too powerful! Pikachu runs away, and the two Pokémon freeze everyone!

Ash tells Pikachu to jump in the water, and use Thundershock! Pikachu does, and the Pokémon are distracted, and Ash and the others can move again. Gengar and Alakazam are mad now, and start firing at them, destroyng most of the camp. Ash and the others hide behind some rocks as Alakazam and Gengar continue fighting each other. Ash says he can;t give up. Eve says that no human knows how to soothe the two destructive powers. Just then, Jigglypuff appears above on the cliff! But the stray shot from Gengar causes it to fall by Ash and the others. Misty says that maybe Jigglypuff can knock Alakazam and Gengar out!

As the two Pokémon fight, Jigglypuff gets on the cliff by them, and starts singing. But it doesn;t seem to have any effect! Although Jigglypuff seems pretty happy that they arent falling asleep. As it sings, a large bell over the entrance to the temple glows! In the Dark Device, James says that Jigglypuff isnt loud enough, and they fall asleep. The Alakazam uses Skull Bash on Gengar, and the Gengar shoves it into the cliff, and Jigglypuff blasts off again! =) Ash says Jigglypuff was too small, but then they see the bell floating towards Alakazam and Gengar! They both stop, and something big a pink appears from the bell. Its a...

GIANT JIGGLYPUFF! Its also covered with strange markings. The Alakazam and Gengar glare at it, and the bell falls off Jigglypuffs head, into its hand. It starts singing a deep, weird version of the Jigglypuff song. Everyone holds their ears. Alakazam and Gengar start to look sleepy. Eve says that this must be what soothes the powers of destruction. They all fall asleep. Light starts to come in through the storm clouds. The big Jigglypuff stops singing suddenly, and sees the Alakazam and Genger sound asleep! It puffs up in anger, and pulls a paintbrush from the bell!!!! It then draws all over their faces, and holds up the paintbrush with a deep resounding "PUUUFFF!" LOL! =)

Later, everyone wakes up. All the giant Pokémon are gone. And everyone who was in the Dark Device is free. James says what a nightmare. Meowth says that now its over. Team Rocket starts crying, sayng they survived! Ash says welcome back. Jessie says they let them off easy this time, but theyll have no such luck the next! They run off. Misty wonders where the Gengar and Alakazam went. Eve says back to the Shadow World, probably. Brock says that maybe that Jigglypuff was the protector of Pokémopolis. Eve says that the strange relics, (Dark Device, the spoon, and the weird thing) were porobably the first primitive Poké Balls! They could unlock all the mysteries of Pokémopolis. The biggest mystery now is will Ash ever ever start training? =)
