Ash and Co. are on their way to the next Island, riding on Lapras as per usual. Suddenly, they see a bottle floating in the water next to them, with a note inside. They fish it out and read it.

Do you know anything more yet about the Crystal Onix? Marissa

The gang are intrigued, and continue onward to the next Island. They eventually arrive there, and walk into town. They soon see a man telling a girl that she should shut down her shop. They go and talk to the girl, and find out that her name is Marissa. Ash remembers the note they found in the sea, and pulls it out of his pocket. Marissa gets all excited, until she realises that the gang knows nothing about a Crystal Onix. Ash asks why she wants to know about a Crystal Onix, so she takes the gang to meet her brother and owner of the shop. Ash notices that the shop is almost empty and enquires why. The boy answers that the shop used to be run by his Grandad. The boy explains that one day his Grandad saw a Crystal Onix nearby, which inspired him to create the finest glass sculptures around, which are what the shop usually sell. The boy then explains that he hasn�t had much inspiration these days, and that he really wants to see the Crystal Onix in order to gain some.

As usual, Team Rocket are about, and causing trouble. They managed to break something in the shop by dropping it. Since they can�t pay for it, they find themselves chopping wood. Of course, they�ve heard the whole Crystal Onix story and immediately sneak out to try and look for it.

Soon, everybody is out in the Island wilderness looking for the Crystal Onix. Tracey sends out his Venonat, and shows him a picture of an Onix to find. Venonat finds something and leads the gang to� a lump of rocks. Tracey recalls Venonat and to everybody�s surprise, sends out a Marill! He plays a tape recording of an Onix (where did he get one of those from?) to Marill and Marill immediately leads them to a beach, pointing to a cave on a little island a short distance away. Suddenly, Team Rocket appears and recites their motto, but the gang ignores them and continues on. Team Rocket are outraged and quickly follow.

The gang eventually reach the Island, only to find Team Rocket there hanging up in traps. Apparently, they got caught in the traps, which they themselves set for �the twerps.� Although Team Rocket asks for help, naturally the gang ignores them and continue into the cave. They eventually come to a pool of water, and spot the Crystal Onix! Marissa�s brother sends out Cloyster and is about to battle the Crystal Onix� when Team Rocket reappear! When asked how they escape, Team Rocket come up with one of the best lines ever:

�That�s something the writers are still trying to work out�

Pikachu shocks Team Rocket, and they end up running into the Crystal Onix. Onix isn�t amused, and with one whip of it�s tail, sends Team Rocket �Blasting Off Again!�

Marissa�s brother sends out Charmeleon, and uses Flamethrower. Onix becomes surrounded by flames, and after staring at Marissa�s brother, collapses. Ash asks Marissa�s brother if he�s going to catch it. Marissa�s brother says no (madly)- he felt the same inspiration his Grandad felt, just by seeing the Onix. It looks like business will be booming again pretty soon...
