Iceduck has found out some more detailed information regarding Pokémon contests and held items in Ruby and Sapphire.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

In Ruby and Sapphire it turns out that each Pokémon will not only be able to hold one item, but two!

The first item will be the standard item as we all know and "love" from GSC, things like power up moves and healing items.

The second item, will be for the contests we reported on yesterday. It was found out they'd be five Pokémon contests in five different categories including beauty and wisdom. For more info, check out the previous news.

The second item could be something like a pair of glasses which would make a Pokémon appear smarter in the wisdom contest for example.

What these contests will do to the game and what happens is still unknown.
