Its official. Misty will be leaving the Pokémon TV series during series 6, which is called the "Advance Generation".

In episode #275, "Goodbye... and then a departure", Misty will apparently be leaving the "crew" after returning to Pallet Town after the Johto League Tournament. Misty will receive a message at the Viridian City Pokémon Center.

After five series of the "nail biting" Ash/Misty sub-plot, along with some "hilarious" moments involving Misty pulling Brock's ear (no, not in that sense!), Misty will be leaving a TV series that has had huge success and is now on the slide into the pit of editorial doom.

Is this merely the writers trying to improve the plot, or is this a sign that Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the next generation games that provoked "Advance Generation" will be "out with the old, in with the new"?
