An amazing new piece of hardware could solve the age-old problem of "How can I make RS and RBYGSC talk?"

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Nintendo have announced a new peripheral to allow you to play Game Boy Advance games on your TV. Rather than messing about with soldering new bits and pieces onto your GBA, you will soon be able to get hold of a thing tha fits on the bottom of your Gamecube. It has a cartridge slot of some st on the front, and can even play old Game Boy games.

The "Nintendo Gamecube Game Boy Player", as its known will come bundled with a boot disk to tell the cube to play the game. It even sports a link cable port- meaning you can trade a battle with a Game Boy linked up. If you own a cube and a GBA- and cool enough to own two versions of Pokémon- you can trade and battle with only one Game Boy!

Sorry for the lack of pictures- we've exceeded our space limit!

Its going to retail for 5000 Yen- in real money thats about 26, or US$50- although there is no word on a release outside of Japan yet.

Looking at the facts, it seems that this piece of genius was only created for Pokémon! This could be how Pokémon for Gamecube (in whatever form) can talk to your old games and get data.

Incidentally, Corocoro confirmed that linking up RS to GSCRBY directly won't work. Stay tuned to PUK for any other Pokémon related implications of this device.
