The somewhat failing Pokémon Center store in New York made it to a year old- and had a party worth of a PUK news update to celebrate!

The store, which retails only Pokémon goods like the models and games and cards and stuff also has a really big Pokédex, and a rare-Pokémon machine! Enough background info:

At the "Catch 'em all station" where you can download rare Pokémon to your game, they were giving away Celebi's- if that didn't get the people in store going mad with excitement, they had some of our favourite characters waltzing around- like Pikachu and Meowth. There were also competitions and "giveaways", as they are called.

Shamelessly plugged on the official Pokémon site, the sponsors of the event, Radio Disney (whatever that is) played some music- it must have been a right laugh.

There was also a special showing of the forth Pokémon film, "Pokémon 4 Ever"- tickets were given to people who bought more than three products in a month. Fictional indications suggest tickets were quite difficult to get hold of. Every child who attended the screening got given a free "goody" bag- which contains all sorts of Pokémon toys- not bad if you only bought three TCG boosters.
