Pokémon were out in force to celebrate the American thanks giving- to which, PUK says thanks to the hard working Pokémon of America.

As few people outside the iron curtain around America know, last weekend was an obscure festival by the natives known as "Thanks giving". Judging by the rare video footage that is released from this closed country, in the form of Hey Arnold and other Nickelodeon produced programmes, Apparently they thank the native Americans (who are related to the French according to the BBC's Horizon) for getting along with them when Christopher Columbus (no, not the Harry Potter guy) landed on their little island and slaughtered them all with what the Aztecs thought were "magic wands".

Anyway, as part of the celebrations, there is a parade that probably takes place in New York. The official Pokémon site is reporting that a Pikachu balloon of Pavarotti proportions gently floated by, met by thousands of adoring Pokémon fans. Or it could have been the burning building behind it, if it wasn't that I made the last bit up. Pikachu was stopped from floating off by its enormous stomach, and a dozen people holding it below, dressed in yellow costumes that Pokémon.com describes as "dazzling".

Other large balloon entities included the disturbingly entertaining Jimmy Neutron, the Clarissa Dickson Wright based, "Big Bird", and the inexpensive Little Bill, whoever he is.

A funny point in the article on the official site is when it critises the temperature, it was "frightful", "low 20's"- those Americans sure do I have it bad.

As predictable as an episode of Scooby-Doo, the Pikachu VW Beetle (Pikachu car to the normal person), was driven through the parade too - this time the "handlers" as their affectionately known, were wearing Pikachu bibs. Again, according to official sources, this made the crowd "happy".
