In all countries, Pokémon fans want to have a Pokémon tournament and general event. A group of Dutch Pokémon fans are actually organising one now. Pokémon UK reports. !UPDATED! New date
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
They are calling it the Pokémon Battle Event. To quote their own words:The Pokémon Battle Event. An event where Pokémon Trainers come together to show how good they are. There will be non-stop battling here by people who want to prove they are a Pokémon Master. Hours of training and study Pokémon, will this all be enough to beat the best?
According to the organizers, it is going to be a great day. New product will be introduced, such as the new games for the GameBoy Advance, the E-Card Reader, and of course you will also meet many Pokémon Fans to trade and battle with, and to find new friends.
There will also be a tournament, both for the Pro League, for which you will have to apply through the site in advance, and the Guest League, for everyone who's late. This promises to be an exciting battle.
This event will probably be sponsored by Nintendo and Fox Kids, although there is no certainity about this yet. We of Pokémon UK of course hope they will be willing to help with this unique event. Also is there, partially because of this, not much known about a location or time, although the plans currently indicate a time around Easter. We will keep you informed.
Last but not least, the site. For more information, applications and questions you can go to http://www.pokemonbattle-event.cjb.net/ (Link is to a Dutch site).
On behalf of Pokémon UK, we wish the organizers good luck, and hope all Dutch visitors will come - we at least will try to be there!
Update!: We've just received word that the event will be delayed to September to fit in with a preview day with all kinds of new games and everything, and because it apparently fits in better with Nintendo's schedule.
