Pokémon has made it into the top ten of two long-running - but unofficial - animé polls.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

Three polls, run by an unoffical website, since 2000 closed at the end of May this year. They were Best Animé Babe, Best Animé Couple and Best Animé series. Amazingly, Pokémon entries made it into the top ten of two of these, raking in a total of 1467 votes!

Unfortunately, Misty and Jessie didn't get anywhere near to being the Best Animé Babe. The winner of that was Ukyou Kuonji from the Ranma 1/2 series. The Best Animé Couple was a different matter: Ash and Misty made it in at number 7. Jessie and James had also been entered but were blasted off. ^_^ The winners were Ryoko and Tenchi from the Tenchi Muyo series. Here's the top ten:

3. Ranma and Ukyou from Ranma 1/2
4. Ranma and Akane from Ranma 1/2
5. Ranko and Ryouga from Ranma 1/2
6. Ayeka and Tenchi from Tenchi Muyo
7. Misty and Ash from Pokemon
8. Arima and Miyazawa
9. Doumyouji and Tsukushi
10. Duo and Hilde

And finally, the Best Animé Series. Pokémon fared quite well in this. It made it into the top five, coming in at number 4! Dragonball Z hit the top spot. Heres the top ten:
