The first round of the British Pokémon Colosseum Battlemaster 2004 takes place today- get down to your local Toys 'R' Us today! Click more for locations and Typhlosions story.

PUK's very own Typhlosion has already been to the Stockport Toys 'R' Us Round One- whilst I was productively still asleep. Here's what he has to say:

I've been out already this morning, while you were probably still in bed. Lazybones. Off to Stockport's Toys R Us, for Round One of BattleMaster 2004!

It looked pretty lame when I first got there. Well what would you expect for the first round? Just a usual demo machine you see in game shops, only with Pokemon Colosseum on it. Still pretty neat.

I walked up and was asked if I liked Pokemon. I of course replied "Yes" and was rewarded with a Pokemon BattleMaster 2004 Goody Bag! It contained:

One leaflet of cut-out special offer coupons to use in Toys R Us for Nintendo Whatevers
One leaflet advertising the Official Nintendo Magazine
Another Leaflet explaining what Colosseum was and what BattleMaster 2004 was all about
Yet another damn leaflet advertising small Pokemon figures
A small Pokemon figure
A pack of Ex: Sandstorm TCG Cards

As I received my Goody Bag, the man running it jokingly said that the Pokemon figure you get is supposed to match your personality (I obviously got the Wurmple by mistake).

Irrelevantly, I bumped into another guy whilst I was there. I instantly recognised him as the only person who had managed to beat me at Pokemon Live 2003. Git.

Then it was just about playing Colosseum. They only had it on one player battle mode, which was a shame. I selected my team and murdered the computer opposition (obviously). The graphics were somewhat amazing and I really enjoyed having a go.

Overall I enjoyed the event, even though I was only there for less than half an hour. If you can go, then do so. You'll get the chance to play what may turn out to be the best game ever, and if you're lucky you'll get a Goody Bag.

It's just a shame I don't have a sodding Gamecube...
