A Pokémon theme park has opened in Japan today, but be careful, as it's only going to last six months!

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

"PokéPark" has been created as part of the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan- there's 12 different Pokémon themed attractions with only 192 days to see them all.

The park will be open 10am until 8pm from today until September 25th- it's free to get in, although you do have to pay for each ride individually.

"But what are the rides?", you're no doubt eminating at the screen. Here's the general gist, based on guesswork and lies:

Bumper Car Battle: Aqua Vs Magma - this is presumably some, erm... bumper cars themed after the two adversaries.

The Pichu Brothers: Rascal Railway - we're guessing this is a standard sort of minature railway... with Pichu somehow involved.

Twister: Fury in the sky - could this be a rollercoaster themed around Rayquaza?

Pokémon Star Swing - this looks like a sort of merry-go-round on ropes, where the seats have the ability to swing outwards with greater speed. You know what I mean!

Gotta Dance Tour - we've got no idea what this is, but could it be some sort of Pokémon disco? Our advice: don't forget your flares, and shoes with goldfish in the bottom.

Alto Mare Gondola Cruise - perhaps a gentle water ride with boats that are like Latios and Latias... the description on the Japanese site alludes to perhaps some "flying" portions of the trip. Weird.

Pokémon Giant Ferris Wheel - does what it says on the tin. It's really big, apparently.

Pikachu Forest - "If you've ever dreamed of playing with Pikachu come here and make your dreams come true. Hop on the back of one of eight Pikachus as they stroll through the forest and you will soon feel as if you're floating on air", according to the official site. One for the junkies, perhaps.

Mudkip's Big Splash - could this be a Mudkip logflume? Yes.

Lugia's Spinning Ship - spinning teacups for the Lugia generation.

Pokémon Merry-go-round - only the horses are replaced with legendary dogs, apparently.

It all sounds tremendously exciting, but unfortunately, Psythor isn't filthy rich and won't be visiting any time soon. If you visit, please send us a report on what you saw, and as many pictures as possible!
