The fantabulous Corocoro magazine has revealed the first solid pieces of information on the upcoming DS games, Diamond and Pearl!
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
It's finally happened.Across in that big place they call Japanland, a little magazine known as Corocoro has revealed some "stuff" about Pokémon Pearl and Diamond!
This is the first screenshot of the little male character. What do we notice? Aside from the fact that the people of Shinou have abnormally large hats, the footprints are still there. As expected.
And here is the female character, who by the looks of her hat, is one blue face away from becoming a Smurf. Notice the 3D-sort of effect on the lamppost?
And lastly, what many of us have been waiting for - a battle scene. It's ever so slightly 3D and very colourful. Lovely stuff.

Of course, all that Japanese lettering isn't just there for decoration, much to contrary belief of many of us idiots. The text tells us that the region the game is set in is known as Shinou, the starting town is known as Futaba Town, and (although this was confirmed donkeys years ago), the games WILL be compatible with R/S/E/FR/LG. It was also confirmed the games will be hitting the shelves of lucky Japanese folk in "Fall 2006!" (that's Autumn 2006 to the rest of us).
So it looks like the rumours were partly true - the games ARE (partly) 3D. But what about the other rumours? Will all the old Pokémon still be completely available in this game? Will it have online battling capabilities? Will Stalin really be the Elite Four Champion? Discuss as you wish.
