That gem of a magazine Corocoro has revealed a few new little tidbits about the upcoming DS games Pearl/Diamond, including the reintroduction of the Day/Night system!
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
It's the news a lot of us have been waiting for.Today, Japanese magazine Corocoro confirmed that the Day/Night system featured in Gold/Silver/Crystal WILL be in the new DS games, Diamond and Pearl! However, the system will now be more of a Morning/Noon/Afternoon/Evening/Night system. I prefer the first name.
There's also a few other interesting tidbits of information we can learn from the article:
- Pokémon now have different sprites for each gender. These give us a first time idea of how Pokémon differ from gender to gender. As in the example below:
Here we can see a male Wooper with lovely long antennas...
... and here is a female Wooper with smaller antennas!
- The Pokédex now comes with some sort of weight comparison system, and an interesting way of showing its results. I'm sure it'll look larger on the DS though.
- Speaking of the Pokédex, Buizeru has the number #056 on the new Pokédex system.
- The Professor at the start of the game is called Professor Nanakamado.
- Manafi has a new Ability known as Moist Body, which basically cures any status inflictions if it's raining. It also knows a new attack called Heart Swap, which basically jumbles up the status effects of everyone on the battle field.
- Buizeru's Ability is Swift Swim, and it can learn Agility.
- Lucario's Ability is Inner Focus, and it can learn Metal Claw.
- The funny little watch above is the new PokéGear/PokéNav type of thing, and is known as the Pokétchi. It allows you to do all sorts of clever things, such as monitor how any Pokémon you have in the Breeding Center are doing.
