More details have emerged about how the fourthcoming Pokémon Diamond and Pearl will work over Wifi.
This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.
The games, set for release in Japan on September 28th will be the first Pokémon games to work online.Much like other wifi DS games, like Mario Kart and Animal Crossing, the games will rely on using "Friend codes" to battle people you know online- as opposed to some sort of buddy list system or XBox Live-esque feature.
Interestingly, the games will support voice chat meaning that you'll be able to shout a stream of expletives at your opponent whilst they demolish you.
This will also allow you lovely readers to plug PUK to your opponent during the game. Here is a list of things we recommend you say:
- "Hey, I know how you can improve your team... why not check out PKMN.NET?"
- "OMG n00b, PKMN.NET ftw"
- If talking to a northerner: "Did you just say something or was that just a noise?"
