More info on Pearl/Diamond trading to older games.

This news item is more than 45 days old. Updates are unlikely and newer information may already be available.

We all knew Game Freak wouldn’t let that lovely GBA cart on the DS go to waste for Pearl/Diamond, and we pretty much knew trading with FRLGRSE confirmed from day one. Some new details have emerged on how trading actually works, well not trading any more, have a look for yourself:

Scan from Pokémon France.

Besides showing us that Pikachu and Rayquzua have shrunk to the size where they can be fitted into a DS, it shows that the Safari Zone might be returning and It seems you’ll be transferring Pokemon, instead of trading like the system used in Pokemon Box. however, there is one big restriction to this: Only Six a day can be transferred, that’s right, out of your beloved Pokemon on the GBA carts you have to select SIX. A day.

Now, I don’t want to be the first to shout: “LOL RUMOR.” But there is wild speculation that the Pokemon you transfer will actually have to be caught in the Safari Zone, look at the picture of the Pikachu in the Battle picture and then the transferring box, both the same level?

But of course, that could mean nothing, so don't take it as fact. Also worth to note your Pokemon has the date it was caught on it’s status page, good for people for people with a goldfish memory who would like to remember what they did yesterday.

Of course, one big question reminds if you can trade back to FRLRSE, remember you’re transferring your Pokemon TO DP and it looks as if you don’t have to send any back for return.

What to do now? The game is out in less than a month in Japan so expect lots more information over the next few weeks and if there isn’t, we’ll just make some up.
